The event which incorporates the Tom Thomas Memorial finals should be taking place next weekend at Alveley, but venue availability and the option of running alongside the Ledbury MCC meant changes were needed.
JJ Falconer and Reggie Goodwin will do battle in the E-Bike class. Goodwin sealed maximum championship points last time out but Falconer took the spoils in the final.
The auto cadet class sees current champion Dalton Wright head the line up with Lilly Bence hoping to make the tapes after bike gremlins forced her to sit out round 1. Kobi Gutteridge and Noah Bakewell also return to add more points to their championship tally. A notable absentee is round 1 winner Levi Collins.
Albie South and Dakota Wright take to the tapes in the cadet class, which will be combined with the Auto cadets. South battled through illness at round 1, with Wright sneaking victory after tying on points, making the final the decider.
Lucas Astley, Kaylem Bourne and AJ Bence form the trio of Cubs entered and will provide some close racing. Caelan Ratcliffe and Charlie Dowd are missing due to other commitments.
Archie Whitelam and John Cox return to Junior. Whitelam will hope to add the junior Tom Thomas Memorial trophy to his collection after winning the Cub trophy in 2024. Cox continues his return to racing after a few years out and will be a consistent force. The FGA newcomer for the meeting is LJ McAlinney, who makes the trip up from Dorset. The youngster has only started racing this season, but has a racing pedigree in his blood and could prove to be a force in the 12-16 class.
A solid entry of Seniors is headed by multi-champion Wayne Broadhurst, who took round 1 in dominant fashion. Kevin Gwillam will be keen to lower Broadhurst’s colours after a strong start to the season. Phil Thomas will be hoping to come to the tapes for his Dad’s memorial meeting, but there are doubts due to a leg injury picked up last weekend at Bantasia.
Round 1 sensation Elwyn Beedles will be aiming to reach the rostrum after making the A final last time out. Ledbury clubman Adam Hawker is no stranger to the Sparrington bowl and will be expecting a strong meeting performance. Andrew Rowson finished 3rd last time out and will be keen to push on, whilst brother Anthony will be aiming for a top 8 finish.
Colin How has form capable of winning races and will be looking to convert that to a meeting victory.
Alex Edwards and Glyn Edwards make their return to FGA action.
Practice commences at 12pm with racing underway at 1pm.
Free Admission on Saturday, whilst charges apply for Sunday.
