2026 Motocross of Nations Teams – Who’s been confirmed for Ernée?

The countdown to the 2026 FIM Motocross of Nations is gathering pace, with nations beginning to confirm their teams for this year’s event at the legendary Ernée circuit in France on October 2-4.

Some big names are already confirmed, while there are also some notable absentees as the line-ups begin to take shape.

Belgium looks particularly strong with Lucas Coenen, Sacha Coenen and Liam Everts, while Germany will head to France without Ken Roczen and reigning MX2 World Champion Simon Laengenfelder.

Here are the teams confirmed so far.

Team Belgium

Belgium has named a formidable three-rider squad as it looks to improve on fourth overall in 2025 and challenge for victory at Ernée.

Open: Liam Everts

Jago Geerts and Brent Van Doninck have also been named as reserve riders.

Team manager Joël Roelants said:

“It’s a luxury to have so much talent available. These three riders have proven they belong among the world’s best, and we’re looking forward to representing Belgium with a strong and motivated team.”

Team Germany

Germany will field Tom Koch, Maximilian Spies and Valentin Kees, although the final MXGP and Open assignments for Koch and Spies are still to be decided.

There are some significant names missing from the German squad. Ken Roczen is unavailable due to contractual commitments in the United States, while Simon Laengenfelder is set to undergo surgery following the MX2 World Championship season. Max Nagl is also sidelined with a knee injury.

Team managers Marcel Dornhöfer and Karsten Schneider said:

“We see our team as an opportunity for the future and we are confident that we can put up a strong fight with Tom, Maximilian and Valentin. Of course, compared to previous years we lack a certain superstar power, but we have also learned in the past that a team without riders decorated with world championship titles can achieve a very good team result at the MXoN.”

Team South Africa

South Africa has confirmed British-based Sevenseven2 Ride Kawasaki Racer Tristan Purdon, Camden McLellan and Slade Smith for Ernée.

Lise Wosick will manage the South African team.

Team Brazil

Brazil heads to Ernée with Fábio Santos, Salvador Perez and Enzo Lopes.

Santos will make his ninth Motocross of Nations appearance, while Lopes returns for his fifth. Eighteen-year-old Perez will make his MXoN debut after earning the MX2 position following an injury to Bernardo Tiburcio.

Guilherme Bresolin has been selected as Brazil’s reserve rider.

Team Ireland

Ireland has confirmed Lennox Dickinson, Glenn McCormick and Jason Meara, with Martin Barr taking on the role of team manager.

Barr said:

“I’m pleased to announce this year’s Motocross of Nations team. Lennox, Glenn and Jason have all delivered strong performances throughout the season so far to earn their places.

“We have a great balance of youth and experience, and I’m confident they’ll represent Ireland with pride.

“The riders will give it everything as we take on the world’s best in France.”

Team Japan

Japan will return to the Motocross of Nations after reaching the final and finishing 11th overall in 2025.

The final class allocation for Okura and Oshiro is still to be confirmed.

Jo Shimoda will not be part of the Japanese team this year.

What about Team Australia?

The reigning champions are yet to announce their 2026 team – and their title defence will look very different at Ernée.

Jett and Hunter Lawrence have said they will not race this year’s Motocross of Nations, while Kyle Webster has undergone shoulder surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season.

Webster joined the Lawrence brothers in Australia’s winning team last year and has been part of the Australian line-up for the previous two editions.

That leaves plenty of intrigue around who Australia will select. Jed Beaton is heading to the United States for the final three rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, while Jake Cannon and Kayden Minear are among the contenders for the MX2 position. Australian MX1 Championship runner-up Aaron Tanti should also be in contention.

More nations will announce their teams in the build-up to Ernée, and we’ll update the list below as the 2026 Motocross of Nations line-up continues to take shape.
