The countdown to the 2026 FIM Motocross of Nations is gathering pace, with nations beginning to confirm their teams for this year’s event at the legendary Ernée circuit in France on October 2-4.

The 2026 Motocross of Nations line-up is continuing to take shape, with several major announcements and changes ahead of Ernée. Team USA has confirmed Chance Hymas in MXGP, Levi Kitchen in MX2, and three-time 450SX Champion Cooper Webb in the Open class, with Webb also taking on the role of team captain. Hosts France have unveiled a formidable home trio of reigning MXGP World Champion Romain Febvre, Mathis Valin, and Tom Vialle as they look to repeat their famous Ernée victories of 2015 and 2023. Meanwhile, the Netherlands is already facing a change to its originally announced team, with Kay de Wolf ruled out of the event through injury. Jeffrey Herlings and Roan van de Moosdijk remain in the Dutch line-up, but a replacement for De Wolf has yet to be confirmed.

Hosts France have named a formidable trio as they look to repeat their famous home victories at Ernée in 2015 and 2023. Reigning MXGP World Champion Romain Febvre leads the team alongside Mathis Valin and two-time 250SX East Champion Tom Vialle.

Team USA will head to France with Chance Hymas, Levi Kitchen and Cooper Webb as they look to go one better than their runner-up finish on home soil in 2025. Hymas and Kitchen will both make their MXoN debuts, while three-time 450SX Champion Webb returns as team captain.

Netherlands – UPDATED
The Netherlands are searching for a replacement for Kay de Wolf after the injured Dutchman was ruled out of the Motocross of Nations. Jeffrey Herlings and Roan van de Moosdijk remain in the team, with no replacement for De Wolf confirmed yet.

Finland
Finland head to Ernée with an experienced line-up, with all three riders having previously represented their country at the Motocross of Nations. Emil Weckman takes the MXGP berth, Saku Mansikkamäki lines up in MX2 and newly crowned EMX Open Champion Jere Haavisto captains the team from the Open class.

Germany has been forced into a late change after Maximilian Spies suffered a neck vertebra injury. Noah Ludwig has been called up as his replacement, with Germany also confirming its final class selections.

Sweden
Sweden has confirmed Isak Gifting, Alve Callemo and Alvin Östlund for Ernée. Gifting will lead the team in MXGP, Callemo makes his Motocross of Nations debut in MX2, with Östlund taking the Open berth.

Australia
Back-to-back Motocross of Nations champions Australia will head to Ernée with an all-new line-up as Jed Beaton, Alex Larwood and Aaron Tanti all make their Team Australia MXoN debuts.
Beaton, who wrapped up the 2026 Australian MX1 title with a round to spare, will take the MXGP berth, while newly crowned MX2 champion Larwood lines up in MX2 and Tanti contests the Open class.
Remarkably, it will be the first time since 1997 that Australia has fielded three MXoN rookies. The new-look squad has a huge act to follow after Australia finished second at Ernée in 2023 before winning the Chamberlain Trophy in both 2024 and 2025.

Italy
Italy has named a youthful but seriously strong trio for Ernée, with Andrea Adamo, Ferruccio Zanchi and Andrea Bonacorsi selected and Alberto Forato named as reserve.
Former MX2 World Champion Adamo steps up to the MXGP class aboard his KTM, while Ducati will be represented by Zanchi in MX2 and Bonacorsi in the Open category.
With an average age of just 22, the Italians will be looking to build on their impressive third-place finish when the Motocross of Nations last visited Ernée in 2023.

Norway
Norway will arrive at Ernée with Kevin Horgmo, Pelle Gundersen and Cornelius Toendel representing the Scandinavian nation.
Horgmo brings the most MXoN experience to the squad and will take on the MXGP class, while Gundersen returns for his second consecutive Nations appearance in MX2. Toendel, who has been racing in the United States during 2026, completes the team in the Open category.

Switzerland
Switzerland has unveiled an eye-catching line-up for the 2026 Motocross of Nations, with Valentin Guillod, Kevin Brumann and Jeremy Seewer selected for Ernée.
Guillod will contest the MXGP class, with Brumann taking the Open berth. The big surprise comes in MX2, where vastly experienced Grand Prix star Jeremy Seewer will drop down to the smaller-capacity class to complete a formidable Swiss trio.

Spain
Spain has named a formidable three-rider squad for the 2026 Motocross of Nations at Ernée, with Jorge Prado leading the charge in MXGP.
Prado will be joined by Guillem Farrés in MX2 and Rubén Fernández in the Open class, giving Spain plenty of firepower across all three categories. Francisco García and Oriol Oliver have been named as reserves.

Slovenia
Five-time World Champion Tim Gajser will spearhead Slovenia’s challenge at the 2026 Motocross of Nations as he prepares to represent his country at the event for the 11th time.
Gajser will be joined by Jan Pancar and Jaka Peklaj for the trip to Ernée.
Pancar is set to make his eighth MXoN appearance and has established himself as another of Slovenia’s leading riders through his performances at the highest level of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Peklaj completes the team and will make his third Motocross of Nations appearance. The youngster has also gained valuable MX2 World Championship experience this season, contesting five Grands Prix ahead of the trip to France.

Estonia
Harri Kullas will once again pull on the Estonian colours at the Motocross of Nations, lining up alongside fellow former MXGB racer Jörgen-Matthias Talviku and Sebastian Leok.

Czechia
After missing the 2025 event, Czechia will return to the Motocross of Nations at Ernée with Petr Rathousky, Julius Mikula and Vaclav Kovar.
Rathousky brings valuable experience to the squad, while Mikula heads to France as the country’s leading Grand Prix performer. Two-time EMX2T champion Kovar completes the three-rider line-up.

Team Great Britain
Team GB has confirmed its three-rider line-up for the 2026 Motocross of Nations, with Taylor Hammal, Ben Mustoe and Ben Watson repping the red, white and blue.

Team Manager Mark Chamberlain said, “Ben knows this event and the track, and he has shown that he can raise his level at the Nations. Latvia have named a super-strong trio who will be dark horses for a top-five finish or higher.

Team Denmark
Denmark has named a strong and experienced trio for Ernée, with Mads Fredsøe, Nicolai Skovbjerg and Mikkel Haarup all bringing international experience to the team.

Team Denmark coach Thomas Kjer Olsen said:

Canada has confirmed its three-rider squad for the 2026 Motocross of Nations, with Sebastien Racine, Dylan Rempel and Dylan Wright getting the call for Ernée.

Germany will field Tom Koch, Maximilian Spies and Valentin Kees, although the final MXGP and Open assignments for Koch and Spies are still to be decided.

There are some significant names missing from the German squad. Ken Roczen is unavailable due to contractual commitments in the United States, while Simon Laengenfelder is set to undergo surgery following the MX2 World Championship season. Max Nagl is also sidelined with a knee injury.
Team managers Marcel Dornhöfer and Karsten Schneider said:
“We see our team as an opportunity for the future and we are confident that we can put up a strong fight with Tom, Maximilian and Valentin. Of course, compared to previous years we lack a certain superstar power, but we have also learned in the past that a team without riders decorated with world championship titles can achieve a very good team result at the MXoN.”

South Africa has confirmed British-based Sevenseven2 Ride Kawasaki Racer Tristan Purdon, Camden McLellan and Slade Smith for Ernée.

Team Brazil
Brazil heads to Ernée with Fábio Santos, Salvador Perez and Enzo Lopes.

Santos will make his ninth Motocross of Nations appearance, while Lopes returns for his fifth. Eighteen-year-old Perez will make his MXoN debut after earning the MX2 position following an injury to Bernardo Tiburcio.

Team Ireland
Ireland has confirmed Lennox Dickinson, Glenn McCormick and Jason Meara, with Martin Barr taking on the role of team manager.

Japan will return to the Motocross of Nations after reaching the final and finishing 11th overall in 2025.
