Drew Stock has been crowned the 2026 British 125cc Motocross Champion, claiming the title in the opening race of Round 7 of the Motul ACU British Motocross Championship at Duns in Scotland yesterday.

It’s been an impressive campaign for Stock, who has won nine of the 14 races held across the seven rounds, taking five overall victories along the way. But those numbers only tell part of the story. Stock suffered a fractured wrist in early April, following a tough start to his season with JK Racing Yamaha. The injury left him questioning whether he would even be able to continue his championship campaign, making finally securing the title at Duns all the more significant.
Speaking on the MXGB livestream after getting the job done, the relief was clear.
“I am definitely relieved. When I first done it at the start of the season, I didn’t know if I would be able to carry this on this far. I weren’t ready to end it so early into the season and, yeah, I just got it over and done with.”
Champion in Race 1
Stock arrived at Duns with the opportunity to wrap up the championship, with his closest title rival Harley Marczak returning from injury at the Scottish round. Drew didn’t need to wait long to get the job done, clinching the championship with victory in the opening moto before going on to complete a perfect 1-1 performance. There was still plenty happening in that title-winning race, with Stock finding himself battling Hayden Statt. With the championship on the line, Drew was conscious of the bigger picture and wasn’t prepared to take unnecessary risks.
“I got a good start and they ran in on me, and I just had to back off. He made a few mistakes and he was pushing, I was trying to keep it steady. I did actually let him pass. I don’t know if the camera got it. And then he crashed in there, and it was all to me then, so I just chilled for the win. So happy to get this over and done with.”

That opening-race victory meant the job was done and Stock was officially the 2026 British 125cc Champion. He wasn’t finished there, either. Drew backed up his title-clinching first-moto victory by winning Race 2 to complete a perfect day at Duns and take his ninth race victory of the campaign.
A team effort
After securing the championship, Stock was quick to acknowledge the part his team and everyone around him have played in getting him through the season.
“The team’s been great. The Italians have done everything they can to help me, what I wanted, and the bike’s been mega all year, so thanks to everyone who helps me out.”
After battling through the wrist injury and still producing a season in which he has won almost two-thirds of the races, Stock could finally enjoy the moment and celebrate the championship with his mum, dad and the team.
A 250 outing at Blaxhall?
Interestingly, getting the 125cc title wrapped up might give Stock the opportunity to try something different before the season is finished. During his post-race interview, the newly crowned champion dropped a little hint that we could potentially see him stepping up to a 250 at Blaxhall.
“Maybe you might see me at Blaxhall on a 250. We might see.”
Whether that happens remains to be seen, but for now we would like to congratulate Drew, his Team and family on winning the title and his fantastic season!
