Saturday morning in Teutschenthal saw the weekend get underway with a timed practice session, setting the tone for the first of two seven-minute-plus-one-lap races. The iconic MXGP track hosted a full gate of 40 enthusiastic young riders, representing 10 nations, creating an exciting start to the Junior e-Motocross action. Round one winner Austin Senior carried his strong form into this weekend, posting the fastest time aboard his KTM SX-E 5.
Race one provided no shortage of entertainment, with France’s Cesar Lagut battling to a hard-earned victory on his GASGAS MC-E 5. Spaniard Arik Lazaro put the pressure on Lagut throughout the race in the battle for first, finishing just 2.5 seconds behind Lagut. Countryman Rodrigo Angel held off Josh Janssens to put his Husqvarna EE-5 on the box in third place.

Bouncing back in style after a DNF in Saturday’s opener, Senior stormed to an impressive race two victory aboard his KTM SX-E 5. The race delivered a thrilling three-way battle for the lead, with both Angel and Lagut keeping the pressure on right to the finish. Just off the podium, Lazaro showed strong pace to secure fourth, while Roan Calado Reyes rounded out an exciting top five.

With a 1-3 scorecard, French talent Lagut secured the overall win at round two in Teutschenthal, taking over the championship lead in the process. Senior had to settle for second overall, with his race one DNF proving costly in the points chase. The British rider now sits second in the standings after two rounds, tied on points with Spain’s Angel. Senior will no doubt be aiming to reclaim the top step when the series heads to his home round at the MXGP of Great Britain in three weeks’ time.
On the Brit patrol, Oliver Webb finished one spot behind Senior in 8th, Kolbe Red Sole was 11th, George Forrest and Leo Golding were also in the points in both motos, ending the weekend in 14th and 16th respectively, and Elii Pole was 19th overall. Other young Brits to make the trip were Charlie Needs, Lennox Turvey, Blake Benson and Louie Bryant. We look forward to cheering them all at Matterley on the 22nd June.
Cesar Lagut: “It’s amazing to win this weekend and I loved riding this track, it’s so fun. I’m really grateful to my family and sponsors for getting me here and always supporting me. I’m looking forward to the next round at Matterley Basin!”
