The championship class was stacked with 16 competitors, making for incredibly close test times throughout the day. Simon Wakely won the first test of the day by less than a second from Cavan Watt. The following tests were just as close between the two until test 4, when Henry Life set the fastest test of the day by only 0.5 seconds. Halfway through, Simon was out front with a small lead, but the rain came along to keep things interesting. Cavan Watt won the last two tests of the day, shining in the slippery conditions. Another rider who enjoyed the worsening weather was Ollie Heard, who gained some important seconds over Dan Guy. At the end of the day, Simon Wakely held his lead to finish as the overall class and event winner. Cavan Watt had to settle for 2nd place with Ollie Heard pipping Dan Guy to 3rd place.

The expert class was dominated by George Ward, who pulled a big lead right from the first test to take the win. In 2nd place was Tommy Wills, who kept it consistent even when the rain came. Third place was a close battle between Harry Burt, Steve Vass and Elliott Picard, but it was Harry’s last flying lap in the rain that secured him the 3rd place finish.

Ben Milward took the top spot in the expert vet’s class, winning every test, putting that raw MX speed to good use. In 2nd place was Dan Groom, who pulled an early lead over 3rd place Alex Lamble. Stan Watt also had a fantastic day, considering he was competing on a Yamaha Tenere Rally. The Saville family were very impressed and chose to award Stan the Ben Saville Memorial Trophy.

The top spot in the clubman A class was claimed by Adam Quincey, who won the first test and held off close late-day competition from Bodie Johns. Bodie rode well in the rain, winning the last test, but had to settle for 2nd . In 3rd place was Tristan Daniels.

Another close battle took place in the clubman B class between Broc Barnett and Alex Westlake, with 30 seconds separating them after 8 tests. Barnett finished up in first with Westlake in second. Oliver Prouse kept it consistent to secure the 3rd place spot.

In the youth class, Zayed Bin Mohammed made a strong start, pulling 20 seconds on the rest of the group in test 1. His early speed secured him the win. The battle for second place was not so certain; just 15 seconds separated 2nd place Zac Perren from Jack Sanders, who ended the day in 3rd.

The clubman vets’ class was won by Sebastien Picard, who finished nearly a minute ahead of the rest of the group. Neal Deakin had a quick start to the day but had to settle for 2nd place in the end. Bruce Wareham had a consistent day to finish up in 3rd place.

In the Ladies’ class, it was great to have another good turnout and some very quick times, with first and second place finishing within the top 30. Katie Wakely went fastest on 6 out of 8 laps and took the top spot just like her brother Simon. Emily Elliot-Hall had to settle for 2nd place. With the young Izzy Drinkwater finishing in 3rd.

Nathan Baxter won all but the last test to take the win in the sportsman class. Jed Walther kept it consistent to finish in 2nd. Jack Macey won the last test by over 30 seconds, but it was too little too late, and he ended the day in 3rd.

In the sportsman Vets class, Justin Short dominated, winning all 8 tests. Steve Taylor kept it smooth to finish in 3rd. Glenn Drinkwater made it a double family podium as he also finished in 3rd, like his Daughter Izzy.

With the weather taking a turn for the worse towards the end of the day, the decision was made to complete the full 8 laps at the expense of the mini extreme event. However, the raffle went ahead unharmed by the rain, thankfully. Thank you so much to the amazing people who donated raffle prizes, Reid Bikes, Crescent Motorcycles, Inchains Motorcycles , the Saville and King Families. Thanks to them the final total raised for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is £1812. This brings the total raised in Ben’s memory to over £12,500, and we are so thankful to all who have raced, spectated, volunteered and sponsored the events over the years and can’t wait for 2027!

Thank you to the amazing volunteer marshals on the day, Pete, Craig, Chris, plus Dave and Simo, who marshalled and helped with track prep. Thank you also to Claire, Alice, Lynn, Jenny and Louise who managed the raffle. Amazing photos by Alice Saville.
