Pichon takes EnduroGP victory at Day Two in Portugal as Holcombe wins E3

TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon secured victory on day two at round four of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Fafe, Portugal.

  • First EnduroGP win of the season for Pichon
  • Debut Tsubaki Junior Enduro victory for Joyon
  • Gutish secures double Expotrade Women’s Enduro victory in Fafe

After scorching hot temperatures on day one, lingering overnight rain greeted riders for the start of day two in Fafe, Portugal. The rain eased conditions for lap one, helping to keep the dust at bay. However, the drying terrain soon developed big holes and deep ruts, pushing competitors to their maximum.

Pichon rides to victory in EnduroGP on day two in Fafe

A strong start to day two by TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon saw the Frenchman win the opening GMOTO Enduro Test by over three seconds from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia. Pichon was in a determined mood, and with the quickest time on the EXPOTRADE Cross Test, he headed into lap two with the lead over Garcia, with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona in third.

Finding time in the deepening holes of the GMOTO Enduro Test, he stretched that advantage out to almost 10 seconds. Despite Garcia winning the EXPOTRADE Cross Test to close out lap two, Pichon still held almost 10 seconds over the KTM rider. Lap three would be telling.

With course conditions at their absolute roughest on the final lap of three, Garcia began to attack, reducing Pichon’s lead to just three seconds entering the final test of the weekend. Riding with nothing to lose, the TM MOTO rider put in an incredible time on the EXPOTRADE Cross Test, winning it by five seconds, to end his day as the EnduroGP winner.

With Garcia forced to settle for second, Sherco Racing Factory’s Steve Holcombe regrouped from his non-score on day one to take third. Freeman was fourth, with Verona placing less than one second behind him in fifth.

Holcombe secures Enduro3 win

Following his disappointment of a non-score on day one in the final special test, Holcombe redeemed himself to win the Enduro3 class on day two. A close battle saw him win by six seconds over Beta Factory Team’s Brad Freeman in second. NSA Racing’s Albin Norrbin completed the podium in third.

The Enduro2 class saw Pichon secure the win by 50 seconds. With Verona in second, Sherco Racing Factory’s Hamish Macdonald took third.

Garcia comfortably topped the Enduro1 class by over one minute to maintain his unbeaten run of form in the category in 2026. Triumph Factory Racing’s Jeremy Sydow improved on his day one result to take second, pushing Triumph Italia Racing’s Morgan Lesiardo back to third on day two.

Double win for Gutish in Expotrade Women’s Enduro

Day two of the Expotrade Women’s Enduro class belonged to RIEJU Factory Team’s Rachel Gutish. After her win on day one, the American kept the pressure on her rivals to win again, this time by 47 seconds.

Winning the opening GMOTO Enduro Test and POLISPORT Extreme Test kickstarted her day with a 19-second lead, which she continued to build on throughout Sunday. Despite Canada’s Shelby Turner (Triumph) topping both EXPOTRADE Cross Tests, Gutish’s dominance in the GMOTO Enduro Test ultimately secured her victory.

Making good her debut appearance in FIM EnduroGP, Turner was the only rider to give Gutish a true challenge in Fafe. The Canadian took the runner-up result for the second time this weekend.

The battle for third saw Marine Lemoine (KTM) and ET James Sherco UK’s Nieve Holmes fight it out. In the end, Lemoine claimed the final step of the podium over Holmes by 14 seconds, with RIEJU Factory Team’s Rosie Rowett rounding out the top five. The Expotrade Junior Women’s Enduro class saw Lorna Lafont (Husqvarna) secure victory on day two.

Debut Tsubaki Junior Enduro victory for Joyon

Sunday was a day to remember for Triumph Factory Racing’s Leo Joyon in the Tsubaki Junior Enduro class with the Frenchman claiming his first ever category win. It also marked the first victory for Triumph Factory Racing in FIM EnduroGP.

Joyon was in a determined mood from the beginning of the day. Pushing the pace in testing conditions, he fought his way into the lead at the end of lap one, winning the opening EXPOTRADE Cross Test.

Throughout lap two of three, Joyon won the GMOTO Enduro Test, placed second on the POLISPORT Extreme Test and won the EXPOTRADE Cross Test to enter the final lap with a 21-second advantage over TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Manuel Verzeroli, with NSA Racing’s Kevin Cristino a further one-second back in third.

With the pressure building, Joyon kept his cool and controlled his advantage on lap three to secure a well-deserved win by 20 seconds over Cristino. The Italian moved ahead of Verzeroli on the final lap, to finish 13 second clear of his fellow countryman in third.

Behind the top three, Fantic Factory Racing’s Thibault Giraudon was fourth, with Johansson MPE’s Will Dennett rounding out the top five.

Perfect score for Scardina in Putoline Oil Youth Enduro

Firmly asserting himself in the Putoline Oil Youth Enduro class, TM MOTO Costa Ligure’s Pietro Scardina secured his second victory of the weekend in Fafe. The young Italian began his day with a seven-second win in the opening GMOTO Enduro Test. Quickest in the POLISPORT Extreme Test, and runner-up in the EXPOTRADE Cross Test saw him end lap one out front.

At the end of lap one, he extended his advantage out to 21 seconds, before completing a tough third lap with a final winning margin of 52 seconds. Behind him, Fantic Factory Racing’s Valentin Mersin followed him home for second, with WP Eric Auge’s Yago Dominguez completing the podium in third.

The Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship stays in Fafe, Portugal, next weekend, 19-21 June, for round five.
