Round 9 of the 2026 AllClear Services Ltd Formula Grasstrack Championship returned to Sparrington Farm, for the Martin Parry Rosebowl on Saturday 10th October, the venue of the season opener back in April, and it will be remembered for two landmark results. In the Senior class, Wayne Broadhurst was beaten for the first time this season by his own son Max, while in the E-Bikes, Harry Wicks took his maiden victory to bring Cruz Harris’s run of wins to an end.

It was far from an easy afternoon. The track was very green and several showers throughout the day caused a number of stoppages, making grip hard to find and the racing unpredictable in every class. Crashes, mechanical problems and the odd rare mistake all played their part, but the riders rose to the challenge and produced a day of enthralling action.

The meeting also saw a number of the recently crowned British Champions back in action, including Wayne Broadhurst (GT140), Cruz Harris (Youth E-Bike), Levi Collins (Youth Auto), Rogan Woolley (Youth Juniors) and Archie Whitelam (125cc International).

Wayne Broadhurst arrived at Ledbury having won every round he had contested this season, but on a slippery, showery day his perfect record finally came to an end, and the man who did it was son Max. Max took the win, with his father second, in what was easily the headline moment of the meeting and his first Senior victory of the 2026 season.

Graham Thomas finished third, matching Wayne’s total of 47 heat points on the day. It was the first time this season Graham has not finished second, having been Broadhurst’s closest challenger in every earlier round, and the Thomas family will be disappointed not to have gone one better after their near-miss on home soil at Pontesbury. Kevin Gwillam was fourth on 43 points, while Phil Thomas, on 44 heat points, was eighth in the overall classification.

Andrew Rowson continued his encouraging return to the championship with a fine fifth place, his best result of the year, ahead of Adam Hawker in sixth. Sam Crabtree was seventh, scoring his highest championship points of the season, and was joined in the top ten by Richie Knight, who finished ninth on his first appearance in this season’s championship, and Ben Crabtree in tenth. Behind them, Charlie Glaze was 12th, Colin How 13th, Glyn Stanton 14th, Anthony Rowson 15th and Simon Bence 11th, and Elwyn Beedles and Mason Bradley both picked up their first championship points of the year.

Despite the defeat, Wayne extends his championship lead to 319 points, with Graham Thomas second on 311 points, just eight behind. Kevin Gwilliam (298 points) and Adam Hawker (285 points) hold third and fourth, with Phil Thomas fifth on 252 points. Colin How (232 points) and Sam Crabtree (219 points) occupy sixth and seventh, while Glyn Edwards and Charlie Glaze are tied on 206 points in eighth, and Max Broadhurst moves into the top ten on 186 points.
There was a worrying moment in the Senior finals when Ian Dudley was involved in a big crash. Everyone at the FGA wishes Ian a full and speedy recovery.

Harry Wicks took the first victory of his E-Bike career at Ledbury, scoring 46 points on the day, and in doing so brought Cruz Harris’s streak of five consecutive meeting wins to an end. Harris, the new British Youth E-Bike Champion, was a close second on 44 points, and, having also contested the Autos, had a long and demanding afternoon on a tricky track.

Oscar South was third on his return to the class after missing the previous two rounds, with Hadlee Jones fourth and Blake Woolley fifth. Reggie Goodwin suffered a crash in the E-Bikes and finished sixth, while Maddie Adams completed the field in seventh.

The result keeps the E-Bike title race tight. Hadlee Jones, who has been a model of consistency all season, leads on 181 points, with Harris second on 170 points, 11 behind, and Goodwin third on 161 points. Blake Woolley (144 points), Wicks (141 points) and Oscar South (137 points) follow in the chasing pack, with Maddie Adams on 116 points.

Levi Collins, the new British Youth Auto Champion, returned to FGA action in style, taking the Auto win with a maximum 48 points on his first appearance since Round 5. Kobi Gutteridge was second on 45 points, with Harry Worrall third and Grayson Rickards fourth, both on 40 points.

The Auto class was not without incident. Cruz Harris, Louie Price and Kobi Gutteridge all crashed during the day, although Gutteridge still took second; Louie Price finished fifth and Harris sixth. Reggie Goodwin, who also contested the Autos alongside his E-Bike commitments, was seventh.

JJ Falconer produced a fantastic display in the Autos B Final to take third, while Isla Gannon battled machinery issues all day and ended up on a borrowed bike, finishing ninth. It was a tough day for Isla, but one she saw through with real determination.

Harry Worrall continues to lead the Auto championship on 187 points, 57 clear of Isla Gannon in second on 130 points. JJ Falconer is third on 127 points, with Collins fourth on 125 points and Gutteridge fifth on 121 points. Grayson Rickards (69 points) and Louie Price (46 points) follow.

Dalton Wright continued his flawless Cadet campaign with another maximum of 48 points, moving to 149 championship points. The Cadet runner-up at the British Championships remains unbeaten in the class, and Bodhi Baker is his closest challenger on 25 points.

Albie South took victory in the Cubs, finishing level with Rogan Woolley on 45 points but taking the win, to add another success after a difficult run of luck earlier in the season. Woolley, the new British Youth Juniors Champion, made an uncharacteristic mistake and slipped off at bend 2 on a tricky day, but recovered to take second.

Lucas Astley was third on 34 points, with Dakota Wright fourth on 27 points. Lilly Bence overcame bike problems to finish fifth, ahead of Lillie-Mai Warwick in sixth and AJ Bence in seventh.

Woolley still leads the Cubs championship on 193 points, with Warwick second on 173 points, 20 behind, and Astley third on 165 points. Dakota Wright (139 points) and South (120 points) complete the top five.
Archie Whitelam, the 125cc International British Champion, continued his unbeaten Junior season with another win at Ledbury on 47 points, ahead of John Cox Jr. in second on 36 points. Whitelam has now won every FGA Junior round he has contested this year and holds 175 championship points to Cox Jr.’s 166, with Jessica Cox third on 92 points.

The final championship round of 2026 takes place at Leamington Victory on 24th October, with regulations now available.
