It was fantastic to welcome championship racing back to Monster Mountain as South Wales MXC reached the halfway stage of its 2026 series.
Race Report and Images by South West MXC
With challenging weather conditions threatening to disrupt proceedings in the build-up to the event, the Monster Mountain track crew worked hard to ensure the meeting went ahead. Their efforts were rewarded with a great day of motocross action across the youth and adult categories.

From the youngest 50cc Auto Rippers to the experienced veterans and MX1 experts, there was no shortage of close racing, spectacular jumping and impressive individual performances throughout the day. With valuable championship points up for grabs, every race counted as the series headed towards its final stages.

The youngest racers kicked things off in typical fashion, going flat out from the moment the gate dropped! Ethan Thomas, aboard the number 16 machine, was in sparkling form, producing a faultless display to secure maximum points with three race victories.

South Wales MXC takes a major step forward with KWIQR Digital Signing-on
Away from the racing, Round 3 also marked an important milestone for South Wales MXC and the wider grassroots motorsport community. The event became the club’s first meeting to operate its complete competitor signing-on process digitally through the new KWIQR app.
Developed to simplify event administration, KWIQR enables riders and families to create digital profiles, store important competitor information, manage licence details, book events and sign the necessary event declarations digitally.
On arrival, competitors simply present their QR code to be scanned at signing-on, allowing event officials to verify their details and issue the appropriate wristbands without repeating traditional paperwork.
The first full live test at Monster Mountain provided valuable real-world feedback and demonstrated the potential to significantly reduce administrative workloads for clubs, officials and competitors alike.
With the platform continuing to evolve, South Wales MXC is looking forward to building upon this initial milestone at future meetings. Competitors are encouraged to download KWIQR, complete their profiles and use the app to book upcoming South Wales MXC events.
