DH: Do you have a Pre-Race Play list you listen too, and if so name a couple of tracks that are on it?

Dan: Yeah, I do. I generally listen to dance music like Asking Sonny Fodera but throw in a few others like Superstar-Lupe Fiasco and a few songs by Aitch, but my music taste changes quite often.

DH: When was the last time you cried?

Dan: When my niece was born a couple years ago.

DH: What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Dan: We’re not here to take part, we here to take over – Connor McGregor

DH: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?

Dan: No not really, just try to stay fun and relaxed.

DH: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?

Dan: You never know when your racing career could be over so work as hard as I can while I can.

DH: If you didn’t race what sport would you play or take part in?

Dan: MTB

DH: What is your biggest Phobia?

Dan: Clowns

DH: Who is your biggest sporting idol and why?

Dan: Stuart Brown, he’s ridden at the top level of our sport for longer than I’ve been alive, that kind of drive and resilience has to be admired.

DH: Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Dan: Preparing for another season of racing, exactly the same as I am now. Or in Monte Carlo.

DH: What is your all-time favourite movie?

Dan: Step Brothers

DH: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?

Dan: Dad/Mum/Step Dad. I’ve been through a lot of different situations in my career and they’re all people who have helped me considerably.

DH: What is your philosophy on life?

Dan: Find the balance between being successful and having fun.
