Round 2 of the AMCA British Motocross Championship at Bromsberrow proved to be a very frustrating affair for the Holab Overflow Yamaha team. Due to a combination of mechanical gremlins, falls, indifferent starts and mediocre qualifying times, the team did not produce the results it had hoped to achieve!

The one bright spot was another podium placing for 125cc class rider Aaron Colley, who went 4/6/6/5 on what was a brutal, rough Bromsberrow circuit. Whilst Colley suffered some mechanical issues, his 125cc teammate Charlie Palmer couldn’t quite find the set-up to fire himself off the gate and then into the leading pack! That meant he was always working that little bit harder and coming through the pack for his points, scoring 11/15/9/8 placings.

For MX2 rider Domonic Newbury on the 250cc 2T Holab Overflow Yamaha, it was to be a very mixed weekend of fortunes, but he did again prove that when on full gas, he certainly has the capability to challenge the leading pack! Dom started with a 12th before being frustrated by a moto two DNS. His fortunes improved a little on the second day of action, going 8/10.

In the Open class, Tyron Cleaver encountered falls which were too badly restrict his points scoring, eventually finishing 19th overall. On what was not the most productive weekend, mainly due to those mechanical issues, the Holab Overflow team would like to put on record their thanks to Luke Dean and his dad for their help with some spare parts and to Wez Harding for his work on the spanners! It’s now time to erase the memories of Bromsberrow and reset, ready for a big round three coming up in May at Brookthorpe.
