Plans are beginning to take shape for a new multi-round 1000cc Sidecar Grasstrack Series in 2027, with an independent organising committee currently in the early stages of being formed.
The proposal would see the series integrated into established top-level Grasstrack meetings, with a focus on quality venues, consistent regulations, strong prize money, open qualification and improved promotion of the sidecar class.
An independent organising committee is in the very early stages of forming, with a planned proposal of a 1000cc Sidecar Multi-Round Series for 2027, integrated directly into existing, top-tier Grasstrack events!
Here’s what we are envisioning for the series:
High-Standard Venues and Meetings: Partnering with clubs capable of running exceptional Grasstrack meetings. A clear set of expectations for standards and track preparation for events.

At this stage, the proposed 2027 series remains very much in the planning and consultation phase, with Bemister and those involved looking for feedback from riders, clubs, organisers, former competitors and spectators before taking the idea further.
If it comes together, the concept would provide 1000cc Sidecar crews with a dedicated season-long competition while working alongside existing Grasstrack events rather than creating a completely separate championship.
