Talon holds factory open day

In August, Talon opened its doors and welcomed trade customers and MX riders alike to check out their Yeovil factory and see in-person where the magic happens. With a new wheel assembly room and dispatch warehouse, Talon’s factory is right there at the cutting edge with its world-renowned products, and this was a great opportunity to see inside one of MX’s most prestigious brands.

Better than that, they had two-wheeled royalty in attendance with six-time WSB World Champion Jonathan Rea, current British MX Champ Tommy Searle and freestyle MX display rider Jamie Squibb all coming along to see what the fuss was about.

The re-organisation of the Yeovil space has allowed for expansion of the machine shop to include the significant addition of two DMG robot-fed 5-axis machines, plus the recent addition of new machines for producing hubs in-house, confirming Talon’s commitment to manufacturing right here in the UK. It means all products are conceived, designed and produced in the same place and this investment in the company will help Talon grow and improve for years to come as they continue to strengthen technical partnerships with companies such HRC.

Rod McDonagh, CEO of Talon, said: “Talon was privileged to host Jonathan Rea, Tommy Searle and Jamie Squibb today. It was especially great to see their positive reaction to our new fork clamps and swing arms reinforcing the correctness of our strategy of investment in our people, machinery, design and technology.”

Hot on the back of the KTM/Husqvarna/Gas Gas Extended Swingarm release in June, Talon has plenty more exciting things coming up in the next few months starting with the new triple clamps range in September. Keep your eyes peeled for those and more before the end of the year.
