A new Scottish-based motocross team will take to the track in 2027, with D70 Honda Racing announcing a two-rider line-up of Ben Edwards and newly crowned Scottish Youth 125 Champion Jaden Anderson.
The new project will be headed up by former MXGP racer Stuart Flockhart and is set to compete at Pro-level championships across the UK, with selected European events also on the agenda.
Edwards will make the switch to Honda machinery to contest the MX1 class aboard a CRF450, while Anderson will make the step up from the 125cc ranks into MX2 on the CRF250.
The team issued the following announcement:
Wheels have been turning on a brand new project which is currently gathering momentum north of the border! We are excited to announce the start of a brand new race team coming out of Scotland, to compete in Pro level MX Championships around the UK and into Europe for the 2027 race season.
D70 Honda Racing will be spending this off season working hard with two of Scotland’s finest racers. Newly crowned Youth 125 Champion Jaden Anderson will step up to the MX2 ranks on the proven CRF250 and is keen to join forces with his new, more experienced team-mate – current British Top 10 regular Ben Edwards, who is looking forward to racing next year aboard the mighty CRF450.
Combining their efforts with new machinery in this brand new team based out of Scotland, there is a high level of enthusiasm amongst the D70 Honda Racing squad which is being run by former MXGP racer and familiar figure amongst the paddock.

“I’ve been toying with the idea of running a race team out of Scotland again for a while now, and after recent conversations it just felt like the right time to put these thoughts into action for the 2027 season. I’m delighted to put this new team together with Ben and Jaden, both Winners in Scotland and both great lads. We have been speaking to some of Ben and Jadens personal sponsors who are keen to back us in this new venture, and we are currently in discussion with industry suppliers to create partnerships with various brands alongside the team so we can create a professional image and offer our riders the best package to go racing. “I’m super excited for 2027! A new bike for me after several years on orange I’m looking forward to getting on the Honda with D70. Working alongside fellow Scottish GP rider Stuart Flockhart as Team Manager & Coach is exactly what I feel has been missing for me at the races, needing more guidance and help to find some of the missing pieces to the puzzle. Going into 2027 I have high expectations for myself in the British MX1 Championships, plus we aim to compete in a handful of selected GPs aswell.”

Moving on to the 250 4-stroke in British MX2 has been a goal of mine so I’m really happy to have this opportunity with the guys and being onboard the Honda CRF250. From the little time I’ve had on the bike, I already love it! So yeah, I’m ready to work hard over the winter and come out prepared for next season.”

It gives Scotland another presence in the British Championship paddock for 2027, with an interesting mix of experience and youth in Edwards and Anderson.
For Edwards, the move brings a change of machinery after several seasons on KTM, with the Scottish racer targeting a strong MX1 campaign alongside selected Grand Prix appearances. Anderson, meanwhile, will make the significant step from the 125cc class into British MX2 after his Scottish championship-winning 2026 season.
With Flockhart bringing his own Grand Prix experience to the Team Manager and coaching role, D70 Honda Racing will now use the winter to put the final pieces in place ahead of its first season of competition.
