Fourteen-year-old Welsh motocross talent Mylie Evans has capped off a fantastic 2026 season by completing a superb double, claiming the MXGB Women Youth Championship title before following it up with another class victory at the Weston Beach Race.
The youngster from South Wales has enjoyed a remarkable year aboard her KTM 125, establishing herself as one of the country’s exciting emerging female motocross talents.
Having secured her first British Motocross championship title following a season of hard-fought racing, Evans headed to Weston with plenty of expectation on her shoulders. But despite a dramatic race, she delivered another winning performance to finish her season on a high.
British championship glory after a hard-fought season
Evans, who began riding motocross at nine years old, has worked tirelessly both on and off the bike to achieve her British championship dream.
“It feels unreal to be a champion. I have worked hard on and off the bike all year,” she told Dirt Hub.
Her MXGB Women Youth Championship campaign saw her enjoy some close competition, with the title battle going all the way to the final day at Foxhill. With the championship still undecided heading into Sunday’s racing, the pressure was certainly on.

“I was very nervous. I knew I just had to finish to win,” she explained.
Foxhill wasn’t necessarily her favourite venue either, having only previously ridden the famous GP circuit once, back in her 85cc days. Instead, it was Wroxton that stood out as the highlight of her championship campaign.
“Wroxton was my favourite round. It’s my kind of track. I am better on a technical track,” said Evans.
Another valuable part of her championship-winning season was sharing the track with WMX star Lucy Barker, as the Youth and Adult MXGB Women classes were mixed.
“I have learned a lot racing with Lucy Barker. She is mega and helped me with my nerves at the first round,” Mylie revealed.

Weston victory completes a fantastic double
Just weeks after celebrating her British MX championship success, Evans turned her attention to the Weston Beach Race, where she looked to repeat her class-winning form from 2025, when she took the 85cc title. She returned this year aboard her KTM 125 with the added pressure of being a newly crowned British MX champion.
“Yes, I felt a lot of pressure as everyone just expected me to win because I won it last year on the 85!” she admitted.
Despite that expectation, Evans settled into the demanding Weston circuit and began working her way through the field.
“The track was good. I got my flow about the fifth or sixth lap and got into 30th position, but then I jumped a dune and landed on someone, which caused my bike to have issues because the exhaust was completely flat!”

It was a dramatic moment that could have ended her race, but she battled on to take the win, and with her parents keeping her informed from the sidelines, she knew she was leading her class as they encouraged her to push harder.
“My mam and dad were telling me every lap to go faster, but that I was winning my class!”
She eventually secured another Weston class victory, adding to her MXGB Women Youth crown and completing a memorable championship and beach racing double.
“It felt good to be back on the top step again for the second time, but in a different category!” she said.

Big Ambitions
At just 14 years old, Evans is already passionate about the opportunities available for girls in motocross and believes dedicated women’s racing is hugely important.
“I feel it’s very important for us girls to have our own race. There is no better feeling than racing just girls. I do still like to race boys, but they are much stronger as they get older. It was easy when I was on the 85, not so much now.”
With riders such as Lucy Barker and Lotte van Drunen providing inspiration, Mylie has her sights set on progressing through the ranks and eventually competing at the highest level.
“I would love to make it pro one day and race with the big girls,” she said.
Looking ahead to 2027, Evans is hoping to gain international experience while continuing to compete on home soil.
“My plans for next season are to try some EMX rounds and do the British and Nora Cup.”
With an MXGB Women Youth Championship title and back-to-back Weston Beach Race class victories to her name, Evans has plenty of reasons to look back on 2026 with pride and will carry that momentum into 2027.
Mylie would also like to thank everyone who has supported her throughout the year, including Dirtwheelz, Carl Jones, Slic Design, 91 Moto Clothing, Wallys Car Clinic, RMC, Factory Connections, and, of course, her mam and dad.
Congratulations to Mylie on a fantastic double-winning season!
