SR75 Suzuki and Dylan Woodcock claim superb 3rd overall at the Airborne Gunner Supercross

SR75 Suzuki and Dylan Woodcock claimed a superb 3rd overall at the Airborne Gunner Supercross Race on Tuesday night. Woodcock put in an outstanding performance on the SR75 Suzuki RM-Z250 in the Pro Class, battling against a field of bigger 450 machines across three races to take 3rd, 2nd and 5th place finishes.

After a sweltering 10-minute practice session in nearly 30-degree heat, Woodcock looked comfortable on his specially prepared SR75 RM-Z250 supercross machine. Woodcock recovered from a tough start against the more powerful 450s in race 1 and worked his way through the field, hunting down Joe Clayton in 2nd place. An amazing ride saw him close the gap on Clayton, who was riding a 450, but with only a 13-lap race, Woodcock was unable to make a move and took an impressive 3rd place.

A much better start in race 2 saw Woodcock escape at the front of the pack with Jack Brunell and Joe Clayton. Brunell made an early break and Woodcock managed to hang on, dropping Clayton in the process. An unbelievably fast and consistent ride from Woodcock kept Brunell’s 450 in sight the whole race, crossing the line in a brilliant 2nd place.

In race 3, Woodcock absolutely rocketed his RM-Z250 off the line but an unfortunate first turn crash saw him remount in last position. However his determination shone through as he battled his way back through the pack and completed the 12 lap race in a strong 5th place, giving him enough points to comfortably claim 3rd place overall.

Dylan Woodcock #275 commented, “This was a great opportunity for me to gain more confidence on the SR75 Suzuki RM-Z250, mixing it with a pack of 450s throughout the three races. I felt great and I was riding consistently. It was a shame to crash early in the third race as I had a good chance of taking 2nd overall, but it was a fantastic evening of racing. I’m feeling good and ready for the rest of the French SX Tour now!”

Team Owner, Geoff Walker, added “The Airborne Gunner Supercross event is a brilliant opportunity for us to get out and showcase our team, rider and Suzuki machinery in the UK. Dylan did us proud on the track and it was great to see him battling against the bigger machines. We had an awesome evening meeting fans and sponsors and are now looking forward to the rest of our SX Tour campaign.”
