Sixth in the Revo British MX Championship for Carlton Husband as Phoenix Even Strokes Kawasaki wrap up 2023!
The fantastic venue of Monster Mountain wrapped up the Phoenix Even Strokes Kawasaki team’s last round of the Revo British Championship. This weekend had to be a potential hangover after last week’s electrifying MX2 Championship win at the Michelin MX Nationals.

Carlton had everything to play for, with a chance to cement his fifth place in the Championship. With Carlton’s Team Green Teammate Tommy Searle dropping to MX2, everyone would be upping their game to beat the former World number two MX2 rider.
Qualifying started early, but Carlton took a while to adapt to the track and posted a time only good enough for the nineteenth, unlike his previous qualifying results. As they say, racing is very different to putting in one fast lap, and Carlton gated well in race one and worked his way up to seventh on lap two. MXGP rider Jack Chambers, Hammal and McCormick would make passes throughout the later part of the race, with Carlton coming home in a respectable tenth. In race two, Carlton started deep down the field and had a lot of work to do. Picking off riders through the race, Carlton struggled to find his flow but came home in fifteenth position at the end to wrap up sixth place in the Championship, one point off of fifth position. The last race for Carlton and the team will be the final round of the Scottish Championship, in which Carlton is leading.
The team’s youngest rider, Lucas Moncrieff, finished his first season on the big wheel 85 in style with one of his most potent rides. Lucas has been the sole Kawasaki rider in the BW85 group throughout the British Championship and finished the season placing eighth in Great Britain.

“After a strange season in UK Motocross, we arrived optimistic for the last round. So far, The highlight was Carlton clinching the Michelin MX Nationals title the previous week at Hawkstone, a memory that will last forever. Carlton had the opportunity to secure the top five in the Championship, but unfortunately, he couldn’t find his flow on the track, and we missed out by one point. We can finish the season on a high and secure the Scottish title in a few weeks, which will cap off an excellent season for the team and sponsors.
“Lucas had his last race for the team on his Team Green BW85 Kawasaki and finished the season in eighth position, showing that the bike can be competitive in the right hands. Lucas will focus on Europe in 2024, and we wish him the best of luck.
Jay Hague is still on the road to recovery from his horrific leg break from a Scottish Championship round earlier in the season. Jay hopes to get back on a bike soon and be ready for the 2024 season, where he is keen to show what he can do.
“Sam Atkinson unfortunately didn’t return to racing this year after some old injuries prevented him from riding. Sam took the season to rest, recuperate, and let the injuries heal. Sam will likely be back in the coming months.”
