Nora Pro Championship – Future Rounds Postponed

Following the first round of the brand new Nora Pro Championship last weekend at Oakhanger, the organisers have dropped a bombshell by announcing that all future rounds have been postponed, and full registration fees will be refunded.

The NPC states that this is due to their new tracks, with the MOD taking longer than expected to sign off. Their intention is to run rounds later in the year, which is good news.

The full statement from the NPC is below:

The NPC have been working relentlessly behind the scenes for the past 2 years to secure areas for new tracks with the MOD. The contracts for the use of these sites were due to have been signed off at the end of 2023. They are however taking longer than anybody envisioned and are still in the process of being finalised.

This means that we cannot guarantee these new tracks will be ready for the future planned rounds of the series & this is completely beyond our control.

Therefore, regrettably, we have taken the unfortunate decision to postpone future rounds and return the full registration fees to those riders who supported us and registered to take part in the series. The intention is to run later rounds once contracts have been finalised, previously registered riders will be kept informed of the date of the next round and will be given the first opportunity to enter prior to entries being opened to wildcard riders. They will also be kept informed of the progress of future rounds as and when information becomes available.

Your refunds will be processed today but with the Easter bank holiday may take a few days to reach your accounts.

There are many championships using the same established tracks and the very idea of the NPC is to build new GP style venues giving our riders new exciting tracks to ride. There will be other rounds in 2024 but we cannot commit to dates at this stage until the new sites are secured.

We would like to thank all of the riders that took part in the very successful and enjoyable round at Oakhanger and also thank all of the staff, track crew, officials, marshals and other assistants that gave up their time to help run the event.

Many Thanks,
Team NORA PRO Championship
