Hunter Lawrence returned to the top of the 2026 450 AMA Pro Motocross standings with a commanding 1-1 performance at Spring Creek MX Park, while Julien Beaumer claimed the first overall victory of his professional career in the 250 class.
Lawrence’s fourth overall win of the season came courtesy of two moto victories, allowing the Honda HRC Progressive rider to move ten points clear in the championship. In the 250 class, Beaumer emerged victorious after a dramatic afternoon that also brought a significant shake-up in the title race.
Lawrence Returns to the Top
Hunter Lawrence set the pace from the start of the day by topping qualifying before converting two excellent starts into a perfect 1-1 scorecard.
Moto One saw Lawrence take the holeshot after first-turn drama involving Jett Lawrence, Haiden Deegan and Jorge Prado. Once out front, Hunter steadily built an advantage over his brother before taking the chequered flag 16.8 seconds clear to secure his seventh moto victory of the season.
Jett Lawrence finished second, with RJ Hampshire completing the top three. After crashing on the opening lap, Deegan recovered impressively through the field to finish fourth.
In Moto Two, Hunter again grabbed the holeshot, with Jett applying pressure throughout the opening laps before taking over the lead. However, a late crash for the defending champion handed the advantage back to Hunter, who went on to complete the double.
Deegan finished second, while Prado edged Hampshire for third. Jett recovered to finish fifth.
The 1-1 performance secured Hunter Lawrence’s fourth overall victory of the season and moved him back to the top of the championship standings by ten points. The victory also secured him the top seed for the SMX Playoffs.
Hunter Lawrence: “I got my doors blown off in the second moto. I honestly had no idea Jett crashed. He was flying. I’m happy it worked out, but it’s time to go chill now.”
Deegan’s 4-2 finishes earned him second overall.
Haiden Deegan: “The track was gnarly. I screwed myself in the first moto, but it’s all good. Another completed round, P2 overall. It’s good to keep putting strong finishes on the board. I’m not going to quit trying to get better. Bring it on.”
Despite his Moto Two crash, Jett Lawrence rounded out the overall podium.
Jett Lawrence: “I was feeling so good. I had my lines picked out and felt comfortable. A lapper took my focus off for a moment and my bike grabbed going up the jump and that was it. It’s such a bummer. We lost some points to Hunter, but we’ll come back to try and be just a little bit better.”

Beaumer Breaks Through for Maiden Victory
The 250 class delivered plenty of drama, with Julien Beaumer claiming the first overall victory of his professional career.
Moto One began with a multi-rider incident involving championship rivals Cole Davies and Levi Kitchen, both of whom rejoined at the back of the field. At the front, Michael Mosiman moved into the lead before Beaumer charged through from seventh and made the winning pass on the final lap to secure his first career moto victory.
Davies’ afternoon then went from bad to worse when his Yamaha stopped during the race after a hole in the fuel tank, caused in the opening-lap incident, forced him out of the moto.
In Moto Two, Kayden Minear grabbed another holeshot before Chance Hymas fought his way into the lead and pulled clear to claim his first moto victory of the season.
Kitchen recovered from another difficult start to finish second, while Beaumer recovered from a late tip-over to finish fourth. His 1-4 scorecard proved enough to secure the overall victory.
The win made Beaumer the fourth different rider to claim a maiden overall victory this season and the 97th different overall winner in Pro Motocross Championship history.
Julien Beaumer: “Laying in that hospital bed [with the back injury] I thought maybe [my career] was over. I told myself I was going to die trying to come back. Now, I’m here. I didn’t make it easy on myself and didn’t ride great in that second moto, but we made it happen. All the odds were against me coming into the season. I worked my ass off for six months coming into the summer and when I got back on the bike I knew I could be one of those guys.”
Hymas’ Moto Two victory secured second overall.
Chance Hymas: “It’s been way too long of a summer and has taken too long to get a [moto] win. We’ve been struggling, but the team has stayed behind me every step of the way. This is a perfect example of never giving up on yourself. Now I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Kitchen’s consistent afternoon earned him third overall and moved him back to the top of the championship standings.
Levi Kitchen: “It was a tough day, for sure. I’m glad to be somewhat okay after the first moto crash. It was nasty. I’m glad to be alright and big thank you to the fans for keeping me going. I’m proud of my fight today.”
Kitchen now leads the championship by 24 points over Beaumer, with Davies dropping to third following his difficult afternoon.
The series continues next weekend at Washougal MX Park for Round 24 of the SMX World Championship and Round 8 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
