Harri Kullas dominates round one of Revo British Motocross Championship at Oakhanger

Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha’s Harri Kullas was in confident mood coming into round one of the Revo British Championship, at the brand new deep sand venue of Oakhanger.

Qualifying didn’t go to plan with the ninth fastest time, but Harri shot out of the gate in race one, getting the holeshot from 2022 champion, Tommy Searle. However, it was Ivo Monticelli who took over second place and pushed Harri in the early laps, before Harri turned the screw and pulled a gap. Conrad Mewse came through to second at the end, from Monticelli and Searle.
Race Two was a similar story, but arguably more dominant. After a re-start due to a red flag incident involving Ivo Monticelli, Harri had another storming holeshot, leaving Shaun Simpson, Mewse and Josh Gilbert to fight over second place. Harri pulled a 16 second gap until, with two laps to go, a slip off meant he lost twelve seconds, allowing Mewse to get close.

Harri was not to be denied though, and won again, meaning a perfect score of 1-1 in round one, leading every lap over both races.

Harri Kullas “Obviously a Mega day to start the championship with a 1-1 overall win. It was really good and I worked hard for this first round, as the last two years, I have struggled at round one and lost a lot of points in the championship. So this year, I changed the winter training plan and was very prepared for this race.

“I had two holeshots and pretty much controlled both races, despite a small crash three laps from the end of race two, but still managed to keep the lead.

“To start the season with my first 1-1 in the Revo British Championship, is awesome. We have a new bike from Yamaha and we’ve got it dialled in now, at just the right time. Everyone has put in so much work, particularly my boss, Lee, my mechanic Steve and Simon Marden with my suspension.

“Now I just need to keep training, pushing and I know I have even more to give”

Jamie claims top ten in first Revo MX1race

Jamie Carpenter kicked off his rookie MX1 season this weekend at the brand new Oakhanger track in Hampshire.
In qualifying Jamie set a blistering lap on his first attempt, leaving him a fantastic third fastest.

Race one and Jamie flew out of the gate into sixth on the deep sand track, looking comfortable running at the sharp end of the premier class. For four laps Jamie held his position until a small mistake meant he dropped two places, and then the dreaded arm pump kicked in and he manged the race to finish in a strong ninth place.

In the restarted race two, Jamie was buried at the start, well down the field. He kept consistent on the now really challenging track, eventually finishing in thirteenth.

Jamie Carpenter – “Round one of the British Championship done and dusted. 8th overall for the day in the MX1 class, putting decent points on the board. I had a mega qualifying putting in the 3rd fastest time and a good start in the first race.
Happy to show that I have the speed, but I feel there is plenty of room for improvement in myself, as I look to get stronger and progress throughout the year during my first season on the 450.”

Top 10 start to the season for Sam Nunn

Sam Nunn was fit and raring to go for Round One of the Revo ACU British Motocross Championships this weekend, after some great winter prep.

A really good qualifying time put Sam seventh fastest in the MX2 class, giving him a good gate choice, which he used to good effect in race one, starting inside the top ten and picking off riders and moving to fifth place approaching half distance. Then a fall meant Sam lost over half a minute and dropped back to twelfth place, which is where he finished.
Sam was much further down the field at the start of race two, in around fifteenth place, and made steady progress through the field in conditions that Sam excels in, finishing an eventual tenth place.

Sam Nunn – “Overall I think we can be happy with today. There were some really good moments, and if I can put it all together, we will be right there. Thanks to the whole team for all their support. Let’s go again next weekend for the first round of the MX Nationals.”
