Hard slog at Hawkstone for Holab Overflow Yamaha

The Holab Overflow Yamaha team travelled to the iconic Hawkstone Park last weekend to contest round 5 of the 2026 AMCA British Motocross Championship. And unfortunately, the weekend certainly did not run to plan, starting with a 4-hour motorway hold-up due to a lorry accident; it just got worse from there onwards!

With round 5 being just a one-day event, points were precious for the team, and 125cc Championship rider Aaron Colley came into the meeting lying 4th in the standings and well within touching distance of the top three. Looking forward to tackling the energy-sapping sand track, Aaron’s participation in the event was thought to last just one lap of moto one! Colliding with a fellow rider on the exit of a Hawkstone turn, Aaron was to suffer a season-ending broken shoulder!

So that left Charlie Palmer to fly the Holab flag in 125cc. In the two hotly contested motos, Charlie went 13/10 for 8th overall in the 125cc class. That was probably a little disappointing for the Gloucestershire lad knowing that at the same event last year he finished 3rd overall! However, in the 2026 title race Charlie still holds 7th spot.

Competing in the Open class, Tyron Cleaver had two steady rides, going 12/13 for 13th overall. The 17 points gained at Hawkstone leaves Tyron 8th in the series standings. The Holab Overflow team are now heading to both the Foxhill MXGP and Farleigh World Vets meetings; see you there!
