In a short but clear statement on its social media page, the club have announced that it will not be happening, despite assurances earlier in the week that the weather wouldn’t be a problem:

“Due to the current and upcoming weather conditions, the motorcycle club of Lacapelle Marival will cancel its motocross.
We are all screwed up”

The Hawkstone International page commented on the cancellation to encourage fans to be kind to the club:
“We’re extremely sorry to read this. We have been in this situation before and it is such a bitter pill to swallow and difficult when the one thing you can’t control is the weather. We know how much hard work and effort goes in to such a large event.
Please to the fans be kind this is out of their hands and there will be no one more disappointed than the club and its members.
Best wishes from everyone at Salop Motor Club
Hawkstone International
Monster Energy Factory Yamaha men Maxime Renaux and Thibault Benistant were scheduled to ride, as was Jeremy Seewer and the Honda SR Motoblouz team of Valentin Guillod and Kevin Horgmo.
Kawasaki announced, as this post was being written hoping he’d come along, that he is coming to Shropshire!
“We are on full force at the @hawkstone_international_mx – @jeremyseewer91 signed up for the race last minute because of the cancellation of the French Championship at @motoclub.lacapelle. He will join @romainfebvre this Sunday. We hope to see you all there!”
It is an 800+ mile trip north from Lacapelle to Hawkstone, plus the tunnel ride of course, but rather than a two-day event Hawkstone is just running on Sunday, so maybe a few of the others might ride convoy with the Kawasaki boys!
