The new dawn! Fastest 40 MX Championship Round 1 – Preview & Event info

The new look Fastest 40 Motocross Championship takes to the hallowed hills of Hawkstone Park in Shropshire this weekend for its inaugural round.

Offering a different format from other Championships, the Fastest 40 sees the Pro MX1 and MX2 classes running alongside the ACU Apico 2-Stroke Festival British 125cc Championship on Saturday, with the Amateur and Clubman MX1 and MX2 classes and the new Honda Cup racing on Sunday.

The stand out title contender in MX1 is the Crendon Tru7 Honda racer Conrad Mewse, but he will be up against his talented team mate Taylor Hammal who we know has speed on a 450. Apico Honda will be lining up with new signing Tom Grimshaw and Martin Barr under their awning and they will have their eyes firmly set on podium positions as will the latest Dirt Store Kawasaki recruit Jamie Carpenter.

Sam Nunn, Stu Edmonds, Callum Green, Brad Todd and Liam Knight will all be at the sharp end too.

MX2 is an intriguing mix of young talent and the old guard with riders such as Dirt Store Kawasaki’s Tommy Searle and former British Champion Kristian Whatley stepping into the breach against teenagers Billy Askew and Joe Brookes as well as one of the Pre season favourites Joel Rizzi.

Jamie Wainwright, Ben Mustoe, Ollie Colmer and Glenn McCormick will all be in the running too alongside a whole host of up and comers looking to make their name in the sport.

The ACU Apico 2-Stroke Festival British 125cc Championship also brings together racers of all ages with the likes of Josh Vail, Charlie Richmond and Matt Bayliss to be at the business end.

On Sunday a strong entry of Honda Cup, Amateur and Clubman racers will duke it out for their own slice of glory.
