Round 3 of the 2025 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship for the SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki team saw Jack Lindsay in MX1 return from injury after just 1 day back on the bike, and Arenacross and 125cc specialist Matt Bayliss step in last minute for Freddie Bartlett who was due to race in America before an injury put pay to his plans.
Lindsay finished the first moto in 27th before pulling out in moto 2, but it was fantastic to see Jack back on track after his injury woes, as he did what he needed to do to ride himself back into fitness.
In MX2, Matt Bayliss looked at home on the KX250 straight away and finished 13th in moto one before he made a superb start in the second race for 8th and 9th overall, the first top ten finish for the team in only their third British Motocross Championship round.

Team Manager Craig Chamberlain said of the weekend, “It’s not easy out in MX1, but we know Jack will continue to work hard to improve and show the full potential he has. In MX2, we were blown away. Matt Bayliss was asked to do a fill-in ride for us due to young Freddie riding in America. Unfortunately, Freddie didn’t make America due to an injury last week, so heal up fast, mate. We got to meet up with Matt on Wednesday so he could have a little ride on the KX250 as we all know Matt is somewhat of a 125 specialist so we needed to give him a shakedown before we tackled Blaxhall pits.
“Qualifying went well with a P19, then in race 1, after starting around 20th, he put an awesome charge through the field to give us a 13th. We couldn’t believe how well he rode for the first race on the bike. Race 2 came around and he pulled a top 10 start and managed to pull off an 8th place at the finish, which blew our minds for our first ever top 10 in only our 3rd round of British Championship level racing. This also gave us 9th overall on the day, which was brilliant considering the riders and teams just in front of us. Thank you Matt for making the fill in ride run so smoothly.
“A big shout to Josh Bing as well as Chad and I, who rely on Josh’s skills throughout the week and not just the weekend. Also Dave Porter who burns the midnight oil through the week for us. FUCHS Silkolene, Plews Tyres, RIDE MFG, Kawasaki MX Experience UK, Kawasaki UK, Suter Gp Graphics, Cross X and Silverback Extreme.”
Matt Bayliss said on his socials about the day, “Some day racing the British again. Said I’d be happy with a top 20 but ended up with up with a 13th & 8th in the races for 9th Overall, so savage racing for 30 mins again but well happy with that.
“Thank you to Chad & Craig & Josh at @sevenseven2_ride_kawasaki @we.are.ride for sorting bike, set up and trickest kit about.”
