3 Flo Madison Crescent Yamaha bLU cRU team bank the experience at Preston Docks!

Although it’s a not a championship the whole team are committed to racing, Arthur Moore and Tommy Wood decided to race the opening round of the Bridgestone Masters in the deep sand of Preston Docks. It was a good opportunity to get more track and test time for the younger members of the 3 Flo Madison Crescent Yamaha team as they also continue to used to their new YZ models and environment on the team.

In the small wheeled 85cc class Arthur Moore continued his solid and consistent start to life in the class and representing Yamaha by finishing seventh overall after the four tough motos, going 5-9-5-10. A couple of crashes in motos two and four, one of which was unavoidable when another rider crashed in front of him cost Arthur a higher overall result, but all said and done it was another solid performance.

For little Tommy it was his first national race in the 65cc class and as expected it was a tough challenge for him. As equally expected though he kept charging to the flag and showed plenty of grit and determination to bring his YZ65 home in 21st place overall with a 23-24-16-17 scorecard over the four motos.

Jeff Perrett – Team Principal

“With both riders moving up to their respective classes for 2024 it’s very much a learning year and I always knew this would be a tough one. It’s one of the roughest, deepest sand tracks in the U.K so I always knew it would be a baptism of fire for Tommy at National level. As much as we all race to win and really want to win, we have to be realistic about where we’re at. It’s not only our first year as a team but also Arthur and Tommy’s first year in their classes, both riding a new brand of motorcycle unfamiliar with them and both of them are small compared to most of their competitors. That might sound like an excuse, it’s not, it’s factual. I approached both riders to be on the team because of their long term potential with the objective to be title contenders in their last year of the class they’re in, which is two years away. So without getting carried away with where we’re at as Team Principal I’m happy with their performance. Arthur nearly grabbed a couple fo holeshots and had top five pace. On a different day with no mistakes he probably would’ve finished in the top five. Tommy improved significantly on the second day which shows good progress once he got to grips with his surroundings and the higher level of competition. He can now take that experience into the next one and with his first major national on a 65 and for the team out the way he can build on it. I’ll be reminding both the lads and their parents to enjoy the experience and soak up as much as possible in their first year and that we’ll take all of that into a solid off season and be better prepared for 2024 with a full first season of racing under our belts.”
