Ozmo Motorsport will head to Farleigh Castle Vets MX this weekend with a special three-rider team and tribute bikes celebrating Andy Sutton, the man behind Poole Motorcycles and a long-time supporter of British motocross.
The team will bring the famous Poole Motorcycles colours back to the track, with Jamie Skuse, Lewis Trickett and Daryl Bolter lining up as part of a tribute put together by Ozmo Motorsport owner Craig Osmond for the man who was his original sponsor.
Ozmo Motorsport, the privately funded UK motocross team owned by Craig Osmond and backed by a small group of sponsors, is at Farleigh Castle Vets MX this weekend with the special tribute race team bikes in original colours, in honour of Andy Sutton, the man behind Poole Motorcycles and one of the most respected names in British motocross.
Osmond’s own journey in the sport has been far from easy: he survived a near-fatal crash in 2001 that left him in a coma with six broken ribs, a broken wrist, a broken nose and permanent scarring on his brain, and a second horror smash in 2005 that shattered his right arm and nearly cost him the limb entirely. He rides on regardless and is also known for owning all four years of the Dixon Yamaha Cosworth bikes, including what’s regarded as the fastest 250f in the world.
Long before any of that, Osmond’s original sponsor was Andy Sutton, who backed him at amateur level and asked for nothing in return. Over the years Andy went on to support a huge number of riders who made their mark on the sport, including Farleigh Castle favourites Sam Sunderland, Kristian Whatley, Jake Shipton, and Jeff Perrett, support Craig says he’ll never forget. Andy has faced serious health battles in recent years, including a stroke and a cancer diagnosis (now in remission), and was forced to close the doors of Poole Motorcycles, a moment that broke his heart. Wanting to give him something to smile about, Craig approached Andy’s daughter with an idea: rebuild a race team in Poole Motorcycles’ colours and give her dad a team to follow again, just like the old days.
The 2026 Farleigh Castle squad lines up as Jamie Skuse, Lewis Trickett, and Daryl Bolter. Skuse, 38, has been racing since the age of six and boasts a trophy cabinet including four VMXDN 250 Evo titles and back-to-back UK Evo Championship wins. Trickett, 33, is a former British Schoolboy Champion and pro racer for teams including Buildbase Honda and MBO Yamaha, returning to the bike after several years away to ride in honour of the sponsor who backed him as a kid. Bolter, introduced to bikes by his racing father, went on to become a multiple British and European enduro champion, a five-time Welsh Two-Day Enduro winner, and managed Great Britain to ISDE World Championship glory in 2022 – the nation’s first win in 69 years.
Ozmo Motorsport will campaign Farleigh Castle Vets MX in Poole Motorcycles’ original colours, on period-correct bikes and parts, as a running tribute to Andy Sutton and all his help and support to so many others over the years.
It’s a fitting way to bring the Poole Motorcycles name and colours back into a British motocross paddock, while recognising the part Sutton has played in helping riders throughout the sport. The tribute team will be in action when Farleigh Castle Vets MX gets underway this weekend.
