Mclernon dominates in Duns! 2022 British Quadcross Championship Round 1 – Race Report & Results

The NETT Club hosted the first round of the ACU British Quad championships of 2022 at Duns MX Park in Scotland. It was part of a fantastic two-day NETT MX event which incorporated the NETT Championship on Day one and the Sidecar and Quad British Championship on day 2. Rain overnight left the track very wet and muddy, but it dried out on race day with no further rain.

In some fast a furious racing it was Mark McLernon who dominated, taking three great wins and leads the championship.

The first Championship race of the season got underway with an early lead for Mark McLernon, pulling out a safe lead and going on to take his first win of the day. From behind Harry Walker fought through to second, with Justin Reid and Dafydd Davies very close behind. Oli Sansom took a great fifth from Murray Graham.

In race two it was Dafydd Davies who took the holeshot, but Mark McLernon quickly moved ahead going on to take a second fantastic win. The competition for second was strong with Harry Walker blasting past, behind Oli Sansom tucked into third with Dafydd Davies holding fourth. Behind both Murray Graham and Justin Reid working hard to take that fourth place with some great challenges but at the flag Dafydd Davies held the advantage.

In the final championship race of the day Mark McLernon left nothing to chance, leading from the start and taking a third brilliant win, and maximum points. There was trouble on bend one with Dafydd Davies involved in a crash that left him lying in the track, he did get going but was too far back to challenge. Harry Walker tucked into second with a safe consistent day and enough points to take second in the championship. Justin Reid took third from Oli Sansom with another good race from Murray Graham in fifth.
