Reigning FIM Long Track of Nations champions Great Britain have named Chris Harris, Zach Wajtknecht, James Shanes and Jake Mulford for their world title defence at the Speed Centre Roden in the Netherlands on 20 September.

Great Britain heads to Roden as the nation to beat after Harris, Wajtknecht and Andrew Appleton raced to gold at the 2025 FIM Long Track of Nations in Vechta, Germany. The British trio dominated the Heat stages before Harris and Wajtknecht swept into the lead in the Final, with Appleton slotting into third as Great Britain defeated the Netherlands to claim its first Long Track of Nations crown since 2015.
For this year’s title defence, Harris and Wajtknecht return to the British squad, with James Shanes and Jake Mulford joining them in the four-rider line-up. Roden should hold particularly good memories for two members of the team. Wajtknecht was crowned FIM Long Track World Champion at the Dutch venue in 2025, while Mulford was victorious at the same circuit earlier this year. The rising British star won the FIM Long Track U23 World Cup at Roden on 9 May, overcoming a mechanical issue during the Heat stages before producing a winning performance in the Grand Final. Mulford’s victory saw him regain the U23 crown and become a two-time winner of the competition in three years.
It gives the reigning Nations champions a formidable line-up for their title defence, combining the experience of Harris and Shanes with two riders in Wajtknecht and Mulford who know exactly what it takes to win a world title at Roden.
The 2026 FIM Long Track of Nations takes place at the Speed Centre Roden on Sunday 20 September.
