FUS Marsh Geartec Husqvarna confirm 2022 line up!

FUS Marsh Geartec Husqvarna are delighted to announce their 2022 line-up, and what a team it promises to be! With yet more continued, appreciated and truly terrific backing from original sponsors, the team have been boosted by the major news that Paul Mason of Geartec and Mark Kirby of K and N Surfacing Ltd have also now come aboard.

The additional support offered by Paul, Mark and others has opened new opportunities for the FUS squad, thus allowing them to move up to the next level. So in 2022, they will not only contest their main goal of the AMCA British Championship but also the Revo British and other selected events.

Being the only official Husqvarna squad in UK motocross, let’s start with the FUS MX1 pilots and six times AMCA Champion Luke Burton will be on the gas and looking for yet more glory. This time around he will be joined by a new team member, that rider being the very talented South Coast based Jake Shipton. Making his AMCA debut and after totally missing the 2021 campaign due to injury, Jake is determined to quickly get some big results on the board!

With three different but consecutive AMCA titles in the bag, Shane Carless will be defending a crown for the first time in 2022 as he goes again in MX2 aboard his trusty, fast 250F. Electing to ride a 250cc 2T machine, another new team member, Jake Preston will be joining Shane under the FUS MX2 awning. During 2021, Jake competed in both the Revo British Championship and MX Nationals so should certainly be one to watch. Also in the FUS MX2 corner is Jack Timms, moving up after a solid 2021 AMCA 125cc Championship where he finished 5th overall.

Making a welcome return to the FUS camp, Chris Povey will be the team’s 125cc pilot in 2022. After finishing as runner-up in the 2019 AMCA Championship just 8 points in arrears of eventual winner Lewis Dowdeswell, Chris would certainly like to go one place better this time around!!

Following an amazing 2021 campaign, Phil Mercer will be defending his AMCA Vets crown for the FUS team. On his way to glory last year, Phil won every round and in the process suffered just three moto defeats. That was truly incredible and he’s sure to be the man that everyone will have to beat again in 2022!

Completing this very talented and quality team is young Harry Keenan who will be racing in the Youth 85cc class. This is Harry’s first ever Championship season, one which is sure to be steep but hopefully very happy learning curve!!
