Dodd leads the charge! 2023 IMBA Open Class European Motocross Championship – Preview

For the first time since 2019, the IMBA European Motocross Championship returns this year. The AMCA will be sending a six-man team to Gouy en Artois in Northern France for round one of the Open class series.

Following the French adventure, the British riders will also have journeys to Germany, Holland and Switzerland with their home round at Lower Drayton, Staffordshire on July 23rd.

The 2023 AMCA Great Britain team will be led by FUS Marsh Geartec Husqvarna star James Dodd who was ironically the last rider to win the IMBA Open title before the enforced shutdown of the series due to the Covid pandemic. Doddy will be joined in 2023 by his FUS teammate Jake Preston on his 250cc 2T Husqvarna, fast Henry Williams, SRH Racing Will Hughes, Jordan Wright and Aaron Collins.

Whilst Dodd is the defending Champion with plenty of IMBA experience, Apex GasGas UK rider Williams is the only other rider to have tasted IMBA action, having just one race at Norley in 2019 before suffering injury. It maybe a generally inexperienced 2023 IMBA team but you can be sure these lads will be giving it their all in France on Sunday!
