Ben keeps it pinned it at Upavon! 2026 Kensworth MXC Championship Round 4 – Report & Results

Last weekend, the Kensworth Schoolboy Motocross Club headed to the newly revamped Track Upavon in Wiltshire for Round 4 of the KSMXC Championship. Situated on a hillside on the outskirts of the village, the circuit provided stunning views and a spectacular setting for a day of racing.

Torrential rain and high winds on Saturday left the track in prime condition for Sunday’s action, producing some fantastic racing throughout the classes.

Adult Open

EMX and British Championship rider Charlie Richmond was the standout performer of the day, setting the fastest lap times and taking a clean sweep of victories to secure the overall win.

British Championship riders Josh Coleman and Harvey Cashmore matched lap times throughout the day and provided spectators with some thrilling battles. Coleman secured second place in Moto 1, but Cashmore fought back strongly in Motos 2 and 3 to claim second overall, with Coleman finishing third.

Vets Over 35

Craig Heslop demonstrated his dominance and enjoyment of the new circuit, recording a perfect 1-1-1 scorecard to take the overall victory.

Jason Garrard secured second overall with consistent finishes of 2-3-2, while Craig Hanley kept the pressure on throughout the day to claim third place.

Vets Over 50

John Priestley was untouchable, taking victory in all three motos to secure the overall win.

Stuart Scott enjoyed a return to form, rediscovering his confidence and passion for racing to finish second overall. Jason Holland completed the podium in third.

Auto 50

The Auto 50 class produced some excellent racing as Ben Matthews and George Forest battled throughout the day. Matthews had just enough in hand each time, securing a perfect 1-1-1 score to take the overall victory.

Forest finished second overall, while a consistent performance from Archie Hall earned him third place.

Big Wheel 85

Jack Smith dominated the class, winning all three motos to take a commanding overall victory.

Harry Newton secured second overall with finishes of 4-2-2, while Oakland Winall rounded out the podium in third.

Small Wheel 85

Seb Chartell was in outstanding form, clearly enjoying the new addition to the KSMXC calendar and taking the overall victory.

Harry Rennie kept Chartell honest throughout the day, winning Race 2 and securing second overall. A strong and consistent ride from Harper Powell earned third place.

Junior Class

The Junior class saw an exciting battle between George Bartram and Harley Sims. Unfortunately, Sims suffered a DNF in Race 2, allowing Bartram’s consistency to shine through as he secured the overall win with scores of 2-1-1.

Noah Stevens claimed second overall thanks to a series of strong finishes, while Trevor Hill completed the podium in third after challenging Stevens throughout the day.

Youth 125

Archie Stapley dominated the Youth 125 class with a flawless 1-1-1 performance to take the overall victory.

A superbly consistent ride from Riley Mortimer saw him finish second overall with a perfect run of 2-2-2 results, while Troy McGilley claimed the final podium position.

Youth 250

In the Youth 250 class, Tristan McGrath showed he was perfectly suited to the new circuit, powering his four-stroke machine to overall victory.

Oliver Willis secured second place, while an impressive ride from Callhan Follos highlighted the potential he is showing this season as he claimed third overall.

Looking Ahead

Upavon proved to be a fantastic addition to the KSMXC calendar, providing excellent racing conditions, challenging terrain and spectacular scenery. With championship battles continuing to intensify across all classes, competitors and spectators alike will be eagerly anticipating the next round of the championship at Arncott on the 21st June.
