Reigning British MX1 Champion, Crendon Tru7 Honda’s Conrad Mewse comes into this round holding a slender 5-point lead over his title rival Ben Watson, who will be determined to put his Dirt Store Triumph on the top step of the podium and claw some points back on the Honda rider.  Gabriel SS24 KTM’s Spanish ace Oriol Oliver has notched up some impressive results in MXGP in recent weeks, but he has lost the tow of the lead duo, and it’s a case of now or never if he is to stake any claim on the MX1 title in 2026.

DRT Kawasaki’s Taylor Hammal is edging ever closer to the podium, and will fancy his chances in Kent, but so will Chambers Racing’s Adam Sterry, who is back from injury; SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki’s Tristan Purdon, fresh from his victory at the Scottish MX Champs round at Rhynie on Sunday; Bobby Bruce who seems to be growing in confidence; Apico Honda’s Tom Grimshaw, who has shown great form in the East this year, Crendon Tru7 Honda’s Jamie Carpenter, Absolute Racing KTM’s Scottish charger Ben Edwards and Motocycle Racings Jason Meara.

Other riders to watch out for are Phoenix Tool Fantic Racing’s Carlton Husband, SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki’s Charlie Cole and SC Sporthomes Husqvarna’s Charlie Putnam.

Charlie Heyman on his SC Sporthomes Husqvarna has been in sublime form this year and has pulled out a massive 55-point lead at the top of the standings, but the question is, will he be in championship protection mode or will he be going all out to claim the win and potentially set himself up for sealing the deal early in Duns??

Current MX2 champion Tommy Searle is his closest challenger, and this is home turf for the Dirt Store Triumph rider who has had some phenomenal performances on this circuit in the past, so he will certainly have his eyes firmly planted on taking max points this weekend to keep his title hopes alive.

Behind the lead duo is Gabriel SS24 KTM’s Gyan Doensen, who hasn’t quite reached the form expected in the British Champs and has a whole host of super talented young guns behind him looking to both take victory in Kent and also reel in the Dutch racer for a place on the Championship podium including, Crendon Tru7 Honda’s Charlie Richmond who impressed last time out with a podium at Monster Mountain, ASA United GASGA’s Ben Mustoe, Dirt Store Triumphs Billy Askew, SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki’s Joel Rizzi, Phoenix Tools Fantic Racings Josh Vail, Joe Brookes fresh from his EMX250 podium in Portugal, Chambers Racing KTM’s Ollie Colmer, and the hard charging Jamie Keith.

Others to keep your eyes on will be Absolute MX KTM’s Freddie Bartlett, and Chambers Racing’s Glenn McCormick.

In the 125cc class, with his closest rival in the title hunt, Harley Marczak (Get well soon Harley), now out injured for this round at least, Red Plate holder Drew Stock just needs to finish 10th in the next six races to land the championship so, will he he be looking to bring home solid points or will he go all out to fight for the win in Kent?

Two riders who will certainly be putting the hammer down to take the victory will be Chambers Racing’s Hayden Statt, who is making up for lost time due to the rounds he missed with injury and he did that last time out at Monster Mountain where he put in a superb 1-1 performance, and Bryan Gyles who races aboard and in EMX125 but made a welcome visit to the UK to race at Lyng where he snatched a victory over Stock on the final bend.

The baton in terms of title contention has now been handed over to Joel Winstanley Dawson, who made it onto the box in Wales and will be looking to push on and take his first moto win, as will Olly Waters, who has impressed with his speed and race craft this year.

Also keep your eyes peeled for the likes of Archie Stapely, Lucas Moncrieff, Alfie Heron, Christopher Brindley, Finley Jay, Alfie Geddes Green, Arthur Moore, Fabian Morrison and Leo Wilson, all of whom are quite capable of running at the sharp end.
