Walker wins out at Warmingham! 2022 Nora MX Quadacross & Sidecarcross Championship Round 4 – Race Report & Results

The NORA MX Club hosted the fourth round of the NORA MX championships of 2022 at Warmingham Lane MX Park in Cheshire. It was part of another fantastic two-day quad championship event which incorporated the third round of the NORA sidecar Championship. Round three should have been earlier in the month at the Little Hempton track, but it clashed with the Jubilee and was postponed until later in the year.

Report and Images by Tracy Thacker

The weather on day one saw a few showers but day two was fantastic with the sun shining on the brilliant track. There was a bit of dust but otherwise, the conditions were great.

This weekend they were still running the new format, with the Pro / Pro-am / Rookies run as a 4-race weekend, with all other quad classes as a 5-race weekend and the sidecars as a 3-race single-day event.

In the sidecar class, racing got underway with an early lead for Liam Mudie / Jim Kinge, going on to take their first great win. Behind, Antony Green/ Jason Green held second challenged throughout by Taylor Whitt / Sam Marshall, but they couldn’t find a way past. Sam Watson/ Jak Watson took fourth.

In race two Liam Mudie / Jim Kinge took the lead from the start going on to take a second win. Behind Antony Green/ Jason Green tucked into second with Tony Murch / John Murch fighting to pass but had to settle for third just ahead of Sam Watson/ Jak Watson.

In the final race of the day, it was Antony Green/ Jason Green took the hole shot, they worked hard to stay ahead but Liam Mudie / Jim Kinge were on a charge, blasting past and going on to take a third win. Antony Green/ Jason Green held second ahead of Taylor Whitt / Sam Marshall, despite challenges from Tony Murch / John Murch, Sam Watson/ Jak Watson took fourth.

Antony Green/ Jason Green now lead the championship with Taylor Whitt/ Sam Marshall holding second from John Murch/ Tony Murch.

In the Pro / Pro-am / Rookie class, racing got underway with a great win for Jamie Morgan, Harry Walker had problem early in the race but fought hard and battled back to second, just ahead of Carl Bunce with James Bevan fourth.

In Race two, Dafydd Davies recovered from his race one problems and quickly took the lead holding on for a great win, behind Harry Walker was caught up at the start but worked hard to recover, taking second in the final few laps. Lestyn Rolands held second ahead of Carl Bunce in fourth.

On day two there were another two races, with just as much excitement. This time Harry Walker was determined, taking the lead early in the race, taking his first win of the weekend. Chad Beevers was behind with Carl Bunce chasing hard for second place and James Bevan holding fourth, just ahead of Paul Winrow. Dafydd Davies took sixth.

Well they certainly saved the best for last, with their last race of the weekend full of drama. Harry Walker took an initial lead Dafydd Davies with James Bevan chasing, Jamie Morgan held fourth from Carl Bunce and Alfie Walker just behind. At the halfway point Harry Walker slows with a problem, leaving Dafydd Davies to take the win, Jamie Morgan blasts into second but couldn’t find a way past the leader. Next James Bevan also slows, and Carl Bunce is missing, this left Alfie Walker with a brilliant third place, battling to the flag with Paul Winrow. Chad Beevers took fifth with Harry Walker recovering from the earlier problem to take sixth.

The Masters A and B class, they had three races on Saturday and another two on Sunday. In race one Ed Davies took the hole shot going on to take his first win, behind Paul Winrow took second ahead of Johnathan Mcknight. Darren Bridge battled back from a slow start to take fourth.

In race two it was Ed Davies who dominated, holding the lead, and staying ahead of Johnathan Mcknight. Paul Winrow battled back from a slow start to take third passing Darren Bridge in the final few laps.

On day two there were another three races. Race three was another win for Ed Davies. Paul Winrow fought through to take second ahead of Johnathan Mcknight, with Greg Fisher passing Darren Bridge to take fourth.

In race four Ed Davies took an early lead holding on for the win. Paul Winrow and Johnathan Mcknight battled for second with Paul Winrow holding the advantage. Another consistent race Greg Fisher in fourth with Darren Bridge just behind.

In their last race of the weekend, it was Ed Davies who took the hole shot but this time Paul Winrow was determined to fight hard to take the lead and his first win of the weekend. Behind Johnathan took third ahead of Greg Fisher. At the end of a tough day, Paul Winrow retains the championship lead.

In the 250 class, it was Ross Dillon who dominated taking wins in four of the five races with Andrew Black close behind and taking second overall, and Frank Marston was third overall a few points ahead of Louie Holt.

The Clubman Elite and Clubman classes raced together and was another great format. They also had three races on Saturday and another two on Sunday. Daniel Scott Evans took wins in three races, battling to stay ahead of Ryan Walters and Joe Pryke.

In the intermediates, Kieran Marriott fought hard all day taking three wins with Kieren Johnson holding a great second overall. In race two Todd Segal took his first race win much to the delight of his supporters.

Brodie North dominated the 50/100 class staying ahead of Liam McGowan to take the overall.

The club worked tirelessly all weekend to make it a fantastic event, and we look forward to round five on July 23rd & 24th – Pontrilas – HR2 0BG. It included the British Sidecar championship.
