Jack leads the Pack! Ecosse XC Winter Motocross Championship Round 3 – Race Report & Results

The Ecosse XC club battled the elements to successfully complete the third round of its Michelin Rock Oil BikespeedUK SACU Winter MX series at Tyninghame Links on Sunday.

Almost 200 riders signed on to attack the north-east based track for the final time and they were treated to perfect conditions for the first block of racing. However, things quickly changed when the rain lashed down on the Scottish venue and the deep-sand turned muddy. In true mx-style, the riders and club dug deep to end the popular series with pretty much a full set of racing across all groups.

Daniel Hutchinson scored his second A class overall of season

Sam Atkinson, who missed round two, won the first two motos but, with no score in the last race, he finished fifth overall. With two seconds and a win, Daniel Hutchinson again secured the A class overall followed by Euan McConnel and Michael Ogden. Colin McLuckie was fourth and John Joe Wright took sixth behind Atkinson.

Hayden Statt #48 charges off the combined 85s line

In the Bs, Robert Smith won the last race to take the overall ahead of Taylor Misselbrook and Harry Hamilton. Unable to start the final race, Ivan Williamson, who won races one and two, finished eighth overall. Graeme Smith, Carl Howes and Kyle Marshall were fourth, fifth and sixth.

The C group again welcomed the biggest rider line-up of the day with just shy of 40 on the gate. Lewis Carey secured a hattrick of wins to lead the class. He was followed home by Scott Henderson and Stuart Wilson in the opening race, William Anderson and Martyn Lyell in the second and Michael McLarty and Henderson in the third. On the day, the overalls behind Carey were Anderson, McLarty, Lyell, Scott Foote and Lee Hucul.

The combined Vets and Rookies saw over 30 riders getting stuck in at Tyninghame. Chris Muir was the man to watch in the Vets with three wins from three starts – both in class and on track. Fellow Vet Michael Graham kept him company in all three motos, while Rookie Jack Fletcher took a third, fourth and third across the line to take the overall win in the Rookies. Charlie Henderson went fourth, third and fourth to take the runners-up slot in the Rookies. Gordon Morrison was third on the day in the Vets, with Mark Parker take the last step on the Rookies rostrum.

SW85 victor #`135 Hayden Statt was unstoppable with three wins from three starts

The Big-Wheel and Small-Wheel 85s also put over 30 competitors out on the start line. Jack Brearey won all three BW races and Hayden Statt mirrored those results in the SW sector. Rhys Whyment, Ebony Brown, Robert Wood, Liam Gourlay and Charlie MacDonald rounded out the bigger-wheeled top six. The SW85 group saw Robbie Scott, Leo Wright, Lucas Lee, Oliver Watson and Corey Hull finish second to sixth.

BW85 – Jack Brearey took three wins to take the BW85 overall

The smallest category welcomed 34 riders to the 65s field and a different winner for each race. Overall winner on the day Harry Hall won race one. Brooklyn Tinkler was out front in the second and Jackson Ross made it to the chequered flag first in the third. The overall positions behind Hall went to Ross, Archie Butterfield, Jay J Cooper, Tinkler and Alfie Lawrie.
