With just three rounds and six races remaining in the 2026 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship, SC Sporthomes Husqvarna’s Charlie Heyman has one hand on the British MX2 title.

The championship leader heads into the final three rounds at Canada Heights, Duns and Blaxhall with a 55-point advantage over Tommy Searle and, remarkably, if Heyman finishes fifth or better in each of the remaining six motos, he will be crowned British MX2 Champion, even if Searle wins every remaining race.
With 150 points still available, the title isn’t won yet, but the advantage firmly sits with the young title favourite.
The Championship Standings
- Charlie Heyman – 224 points
- Tommy Searle – 169 points
Championship lead: 55 points

What Does Charlie Need?
With six motos remaining and a maximum of 150 points still available, consistency is now Heyman’s greatest weapon.
Should Tommy Searle win all six remaining races, he would finish the season on 319 points.
If Heyman records six fifth-place finishes, he would score 96 more points to end the season on 320 points, enough to secure the British MX2 Championship by a single point.
Of course, championship battles are rarely that straightforward, but it highlights just how strong a position Heyman has built through the opening rounds.

Consistency Has Been The Key
The numbers behind Heyman’s championship campaign are hugely impressive.
Across the opening ten races of the season, he has finished outside the podium just twice. Every other race has seen the youngster finish first, second or third.
- Six Race wins
- Two 2nds
- One 4th place at Landrake
- One 5th place at Preston Docks
That consistency has allowed him to steadily build a championship lead while others around him have dropped valuable points.

A Rider Who Knows How To Win Championships
If there is one rider who won’t be intimidated by the pressure of a title run-in, it’s Charlie Heyman.
The British youngster already has an outstanding record of turning championship opportunities into championship victories.
His previous national titles include:
- 🏆 2021 MX Nationals MYX2 125 Champion
- 🏆 2022 MXGB 125cc Youth Champion (secured with one round remaining)
- 🏆 MX Nationals MXY2 Champion (won every race and wrapped up the title with one round to spare)
Those championship-winning campaigns have all been built on the same qualities Heyman has displayed throughout 2026—speed, consistency and the ability to deliver when the pressure is highest.
Three Huge Rounds Remain
The championship now heads to:
- 🇬🇧 Canada Heights
- 🇬🇧 Duns
- 🇬🇧 Blaxhall
Six races remain.
One championship is up for grabs.
While Tommy Searle will undoubtedly continue pushing until the very last chequered flag, especially with this possibly being his last season of British Championship racing, Heyman has earned the right to control his own destiny.
If he can continue the remarkable consistency he has shown all season, the 2026 British MX2 Championship could soon be added to an already impressive list of national titles.
