Walker strides to Lee Dell win! Raw Enduro Rock Oil Championship Round 3 – Race Report & Results

Jonny Walker was a late entry to Lee Dell, he used Rock Oil Round 3 for a very rare UK outing on his Beta RR300, giving a little back to his UK fans whilst stretching his legs to keep his bike fitness in check.

In the Youth Race local ace Hayden Stansfield smashed the class on a 9 lap tally. Robbie Davidson placed P2 with Karl Hancock having a fantastic day grabbing third. Bradley Crabtree won the Youth B with Brook Mudie battling hard all race with no rear brake to take runner up spot. Theo Nicholson enjoyed the long lap race and for his huge effort was rewarded with third in youth B. Running solo Jake Hannon was the only rider in Autos proving even the little bikes can get around a full on enduro loop.

A stacked adult race saw a brilliant turn out in the sunny conditions, the welcome return of spectators was great to see as friends and family came to cheer on their riders.

World stars Jonny Walker and Charlie Frost both came to lee dell to simply grab some extra saddle time ahead of the upcoming Hard Enduro races which are due to resume.

Jonny was his usual class act, smooth as ever and very efficient around the Lee Dell Cross country lap, despite an early slip off losing a hand guard. Completing 14 laps Jonny was kept honest by Charlie Frost who pushed the entire race to stay on walkers heels. Jamie Williams had his first competitive ride since breaking his collar bone with a solid third in the premier rider’s class. Ethan Marquiss continues to improve on his Mototech KTM again taking the Novice class win despite being pushed hard by local rider Louis Yates who placed runner up.

A popular winner in the sportsman class was Sam Land, both Sam and Ethan Philips were the only two sportsman to complete 12 laps. As is the norm at RAW Enduro the Clubman class continues to be the most competitive. RAW Team rider Bert Boam carried on his good run of form with another clubman class win despite being pushed a little harder at Lee Dell from runner up Chris bailey and third place Josh Knight.

Sportsman Vets riders battled once again at the front, Nick Barrow ground out another win in class, Mark Vardy overcame a final lap blunder as he somehow got fired off his bike down a very steep bank close to the finish. A quick rescue mission saw Vardy still take runner up after his bike was lifted back on track by marshals.
