Things have started to heat right up as the 2021 season is coming to the closing rounds with just two to go at Duns and Landrake for the grand finale.

In the Big Wheel 85cc class there were some tremendous battles for all to watch with two motos. In the opening moto it was the 326 machine of Wal Beaney who stood his ground and took the chequered flag. In the second moto this wasn’t the case with the SJP Moto rider Billy Askew taking the honours and the overall for the day on the podium. During the final moto there were some close battles between Billy Askew, Ben Mustoe, Finley Evans and Wal Beaney. Rounding out the top five were Team Matt Gardiner MX rider Ben Mustoe in second, Wal Beaney in third, Tyla Hooley and Finley Evans in fourth and fifth.

In the 125cc and 250cc class which are scored separately, there were a number of close battles and takeovers throughout both motos. Taking the honours in the 125cc category was Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha’s youth rider Joe Brookes which went down to the line with James Barker who finished up in second with 85 points. Jayden Haigh was your third place 125cc rider, with Bailey Johnston and Jak Taylor your riders rounding out the top five. In the 250cc class it was the red plate holder rider Alfie Jones who once again took the top step on the podium for Blaxhall with 85 points, closely followed by Phoenix Tools Apico Kawasaki rider Sam Atkinson with 84 points and Tyler Westcott in third with 81 points. Travis Steels and Jude Morris were your fourth and fifth place riders in the 250cc Championship.

There was no stopping 151 Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha rider, Harri Kullas in the opening MX1 moto at Blaxhall who gained a big lead to take home the chequered flag. Throughout the opening moto we saw a number of intense battles with riders putting in their all for those valuable Championship points as the season starts to come to an end with just two rounds to go. All eyes were on Harri Kullas for the second moto whom many had as the favourite to win once again however some incredible racing took place with changes throughout the pack, the SS24 KTM rider Shaun Simpson took the chequered for the final moto and just missed out on the podium by one point. The top five for Blaxhall were Harri Kullas (Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha), Evgeny Bobryshev (Par Homes Husqvarna), Josh Gilbert (Par Homes Husqvarna), Shaun Simpson (SS24 KTM) and Adam Sterry (Hitachi KTM Fuelled by Milwaukee).

Conrad Mewse onboard the Hitachi KTM Fuelled by Milwaukee machine was on fire at Blaxhall with some incredible riding for the large crowd in attendance at Blaxhall to see. Taking both moto wins, it was clear Mewse was out to prove his point and gain more points within the British MX2 Championship. Once again, the MX2 riders provided some close action-packed racing and with fans cheering from the side-lines it was a great atmosphere throughout the day. The top five for the British MX2 Championship were Conrad Mewse (Hitachi KTM Fuelled by Milwaukee), John Adamson (Gabriel Installation KTM), Steven Clarke (ASA United GASGAS), Wildcard rider Jamie Wainwright and Brad Anderson (Verde Substance KTM).

The Championship now heads to Duns in Scotland on August 28th & 29th for the penultimate round for a number of Official British Championship classes.
