Mud master Ellwood! Witley Motoduro – Report and Results

The Witley Motorcycle Club held their first ever Motoduro on Sunday which attracted a fantastic line up to the Down Farm, Odiham venue.

With 200 straw bales, and posts and tape, the course was a flowing, but challenging stubble field course, using the natural undulation of Down Farm. The track became more of a challenge due to the changeable weather which made it going tough for everyone.

Daryl Bolter took the first moto win, but in the second he got filled in after a poor start and pulled out to save his machine which “looked like a steam train”. Tom Ellwood took advantage of Bolter’s misfortunate and capitalised to take the moto win. Bolter would take the chequers in the next two motos but with a solid 2-1-2-2 scorecard the victory would go the way of Ellwood over Bolter with Alex Barnes in third.

Sharing Motos with the Experts were the Vets and with four wins it would be Gary McCoy with the overall ahead of Neil Bowker second and Neil Foster third.

James O’Mara was the master of the Clubman class collecting all four moto victories for the overall. Aaron Barnes would fend off Reilly Dennison for second.

In the Sportsman, Robert Melita rebounded from a seventh in the first race to pile in with three wins in the remaining motos to take the top spot. Stuart Williams was consistent throughout for second with Mark Paul third.

The club would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to their fantastic volunteers for their hard work last weekend, throughout the week, this weekend and the cleaning jobs still to do to ensure their kit’s ready for future events. Far too many people to name here but thank you all. Thanks also to Cusses Gorse MX for the hire of their start gates.
