Matiss Karro & Team Latvia bring the Baltic storm to VMXDN Foxhill

It may be throwback Thursday, but the promoters of VMXdN Foxhill have their sights set straight ahead as it’s all systems go for VMXdN Foxhill, held at the legendary GP Circuit near Swindon on the August Bank Holiday Weekend (24th -28th).

Team after team has already been announced, packed full of legends past and present. Joining that long and distinguished lineup is Team Latvia.

Matiss Karro is the first man on the team, having retired from professional motocross just two years ago. This guy has a long history with England, having ridden for English teams STR KTM whilst competing in the MX1 and MVR-D Honda in the MX2 class in the World Championship. These days you will find Karro enjoying life onboard his CR250. He may be accustomed to the cold weather, but this guy is red hot on board a motocross bike.

Joining Karro on the team is Lauris Freibergs. Following in his older brothers’ footsteps (Gata and Marti), Freibergs started his career in the youth classes at the age of 6 and is the 2000 European Open class champion and has represented his country twelve times in the Nations Cup. He competed for 11 years in the MXGP’’s and has ten Latvia championship titles to boot. Since retiring from professional motocross in 2014 Freibergs has been running his mx training school. He returned to the circuit in 2022 and has competed in several Italian races, which he won! Undoubtedly, he will be one to watch when the gate drops.

Taking the final spot of the three-man team is Martins Aleksandrovics. No stranger to the international scene Aleksandrovics has also represented his country on the international circuit on numerous occasions. Joining forces with Karro and Freibergs undoubtedly puts Team Latvia as one to watch when the gate drops on August 26th.

The funs starts long before the racing action when the gates open to weekend ticket holders on Thursday August 24th at 12 noon, and there is plenty to see and do, with a trade village, Show’N’Shine, rider interviews, live entertainment, and world-class racing.
