Josh Gilbert targets Duns return after confirming Canada Heights absence

Apico Honda’s Josh Gilbert has confirmed he’ll miss this weekend’s Motul ACU British Motocross Championship round at Canada Heights but is on course to make his return at Duns next month.

Last year’s British MX1 No. 3 crashed out at Round 2 at Preston Docks, and the injury was such that he needed to undergo surgery, which has seen him on the sidelines since, missing the rounds at Lyng, Landrake and Monster Mountain as well as this Sunday’s huge Round 6 in Kent.

He will be back for Duns in Scotland on August 9th and the season finale at Blaxhall on the 27th September, though, where he will be looking to make his mark, secure a team place for 2027 and put his name in the frame for a Team GB spot at the Motocross of Nations.

Josh said: “I will be back for Duns, but Canada Heights is just a little bit too soon to line up for

“Recovery is going really well; the shoulder feels much more stable, and I’ve done everything I can to this point to get it as strong as possible. The goal is to be back for Duns and Blaxhall and to try to bag some decent results by the end of the year.”
