Interview: Alfie Jones – The new Pro show!
It’s been one hell of a year for rising talent Alfie Jones!

I have had the pleasure of watching Alfie ride since the early days, watching him rip a 50 with a mohawk stuck on the top of his lid and absolutely spanking club riders in the process. It’s been amazing to see how far he has come and to see him now making the jump into the Pro Ranks well, to be honest it just makes me feel old…
That being said, I sent Alfie a few questions to briefly touch on his final year in the youth and talk about his deal with Chambers and what he anticipates going forward!
To the questions…
Let’s quickly touch on your 2021 season, your results were exactly where they needed to be all year long and you ended up taking three Championship titles in the process.
DH: Talk us through your season and what it means to have accomplished so much in your final year as an MXY2 rider…
Alfie: “Obviously it’s amazing to come away with three titles, it has been a lot of work of course, but walking away top of all three championships makes it all worthwhile.
“It’s also nice to have finally won a British Title after being close in previous seasons, especially when it was my last year in the youth. It’s a good way to round off my amateur career and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds as I make the jump into professional racing!”
DH: You’ve signed with Chambers for 2021, how did that deal come about and what does it mean to you to have team support for your debut season of pro racing?
Alfie: “In all honesty, it came about quite naturally. We got talking to the guys from Chambers towards the end of the season, they’d been impressed with my riding and Tim invited me to jump onto the team for my debut year in the pros.
“It’s humbling to be offered a ride for my first year as a professional, it’s not an opportunity that everyone gets and it’s not something I am going to take for granted. I’m looking forward to working the team and learning a lot in 2022 with them behind me.”
DH: We’re obviously going into the off-season, what will you be doing to prepare for the leap into the pro ranks and have you set out any goals for the year ahead yet?
Alfie: “A lot of riding and a lot of training. I’ve spent a little bit of time in Spain already this winter and I’ll be getting back out there soon with the Planet Moto guys, spinning a decent number of laps and just trying to get faster. The races are going to be longer and more physical, so my training regime will be working on strength and endurance also.
“My expectations aren’t through the roof going into 2022, but I’d like to think that I can work towards some top ten finishes at British level as the year progresses. All I can do is work hard and try to stay injury free to have a good consisted first year!”
DH: Finally, is there anyone you’d like to thank/shoutout for their support in 2021?
