Hey Jude! Corsham MXC Even Strokes Club Championship Round 2 – Report & Results

Round 2 of the Corsham MXC Even Strokes Club Championships took place at Gritteham on Sunday, attracting a huge entry with nigh on all classes having full line ups.

On arrival, I was expecting it to be dusty as the track had been used for practice the day before, but giving credit where credit is due to a lot of effort had been put into running the event by Lawson Benjamin and his crew with the track sprinklers being used the evening before and as much as they could during the day as well as water bowsers in the field section to keep the track to what could only be described as tip-top condition and it showed with some top quality racing in all classes.

There were maximums for both Hugo Maytom Yalland and Tommy Wood in the Small Wheel and Big Wheel Auto’s while in the 65’s Riley Northcote went 1-1-3 to beat race three winner Louie Maytom Yalland.

George Clark nailed two victories and a second in the Small Wheel 85’s to top the poidum over moto three winner Logan Gardner and over in the Big Wheels Joey Benifield and Charlie Hucklebridge put on a great show scrapping it out for overall glory with Benifield taking the honours with two wins to Hucklebridges one.

Dominic Newbury blitzed the field in the youth class storming to 3 wins from three.

Moving up to the Adult ranks for the first time Jude Morris was sensational and went through the card in the Adult A class, while Mckenzie Horlock reigned supreme in the Adult B and Reece Chapple did likewise in Adult C. Due to demand there was also a Adult C1 class which was won by Jason Skinner.

Darren Banwell dominated all three Vets Over 35 races

In the Vets Over 35’s Darren Banwell rolled back the years going 1-1-1 and in the Over 45’s Darren Harvey matched that feat.
