Guy Martin set for Farleigh Castle Vets MX return

Guy Martin returns for the 2026 Farleigh Castle Vets MX

Guy Martin is back for more at the 2026 Farleigh Castle Vets MX, having enjoyed his appearance at the iconic venue so much last year that he vowed to return. True to his word, the national treasure is once again entered to race at the historic Farleigh Castle circuit on Saturday, September 12, after being won over by the event, the venue and its classic machinery in 2025.

Guy will line up once again on one of the DocWob YZ 250s, though for 2026 they are emblazoned with the Chesterfield livery, which is an homage to the factory Rinaldi Yamahas raced by Donny Schmidt, Bob Moore and Alessandro Puzar back in 93.

With just over a week to go, excitement is building for the return of the Farleigh Castle Vets MX, the original vets motocross event, taking place over September 10-13, 2026, at the picturesque Farleigh Castle Grand Prix circuit in Somerset, widely regarded as one of the most naturally beautiful venues in the country.

First established in 2009, this year marks the event’s 17th consecutive year and its third under the current management team, who have continued to elevate entries, spectator numbers, and track preparation to restore the event’s reputation as the premier fixture at this historic and iconic GP circuit.

All classes will feature practice sessions and two full-length races on Saturday, followed by two further races on Sunday.

The weekend atmosphere will once again be complemented by a popular beer tent on Friday and Saturday evening, featuring BBC Introducing DJ Andrew Marsden, alongside an artisan food court and leading UK trade stands, headlined by high street retailer The Range.

Gates open at midday on Thursday, September 10, allowing early access ahead of a relaxed Friday featuring track walks and scrutineering, before racing gets underway on Saturday.

The weekend will showcase two full days of racing featuring some of the biggest names in UK motocross competing on era-correct machinery, alongside the ever-popular Farleigh Vets MX Team Race – traditionally one of the highlights of the weekend, delivering bar-to-bar action between elite vets racers from the UK and abroad.

Organisers wish to confirm that recent reports suggesting the venue may be unable to host the event due to water shortages are inaccurate. The event is confirmed to go ahead as planned, rain or shine.
