Dirt Store Kawasaki back on top as Searle wins Fastest 40 MX2 Round 1 at Foxhill

Last Saturday, Team Dirt Store Kawasaki attended Round 1 of the Fastest 40 MX Championship at the historic Foxhill circuit. The team fielded a lineup of Jamie Carpenter in the MX1 class, alongside Tommy Searle and Joel Rizzi in MX2. The trio all rode strongly and showed great promise for the 2024 season.
Fitting of his new nickname, ‘250 Tom,’ Tommy Searle started the series off with a perfect 1-1 score. He showed great speed all day long, also claiming the fastest lap in timed qualifying. Race 1 saw Tommy make a swift pass on lap 6, after which he controlled the race from the front. It was a similar story in Race 2. After a very strong start and a commanding pace out front, Tommy looked set for a dominant victory. However, on the final laps, a rear puncture allowed teammate Joel Rizzi to close down a 5 second gap for an exciting photo finish.

Joel Rizzi backed up his success at the Hawkstone International pre-season race with a 3rd place overall at Foxhill. He is settling in very well with the new team and looks strong on the 250. After a steady start in Race 1 Joel moved his way up from 10th to 5th, putting in his fastest lap time late in the race on lap 11/13. This showcase of speed continued to race 2 where he chased teammate Tommy from start to finish. The pair were a forced to be reckoned with, pulling out over 40 seconds on the rest of the field.
Less than a month after signing for the team, Jamie Carpenter lined up for his first race on the Dirt Store Kawasaki. After some tricky starts, he worked hard to pass from 10th to 7th in Race 1, and 19th to 10th in Race 2. Jamie pushed hard and showed great determination on a very dusty and tricky track to pass. He salvaged a 9th place overall and has a solid building block to push up through the field in the following rounds.
This weekend the team moved on to Lyng, for the opening round of the Dirt Store ACU British Motocross Championship. The team would like thank their partners, sponsors and team for their efforts and continued support for the 2024 season. We look forward to bringing more strong results.
