The mixed Open/MX2 class continues to thrill and has produced eight outstanding motos in the two rounds completed so far. In the Open chase, FUS Marsh Honda rider James Dodd leads the way, having won 5 of the 8 motos. At present, the other two riders to have enjoyed getting the better of Dodd, Jayden Ashwell and Will Hughes, sit 2nd and 3rd respectively in the standings, with fast-starting Liam Gale and Adam Wells the next best. Over in MX2, just six points separate leader Henry Williams and Josh Waterman and with Luke Dean waiting to pounce in 3rd, this class with those three quality pilots flying high is very hard to call. At present, gritty Luke Meredith holds 4th, but after breaking his wrist and injuring his shoulder at Bromsberrow, he may be a non-starter this weekend.
Back to his very best at Bromsberrow and scoring maximum points, defending AMCA 125cc Champion Jimmy Margetson is already topping the table in the race for 2025 honours. The fast AJP KTM ace is 11 points clear of Midwest Racing rider Wyatt McGregor, with first round winner Luke Newman now 3rd after suffering a series of crashes during the Bromsberrow round. After the frantic, all-action first eight motos, Will Turner, Aaron Colley and Luke Phillips round off the current top six places in the 125cc class. In the 125cc Youth class, round one winner Linc Hasted failed to score at Bromsberrow, so he has dropped down to 8th in the standings. Taking over at the top is Ollie Jewitt from Woz Boyce, Ted Bullen and round two winner Jack Evans.
In the combined BW/SW85cc Youth class, Stanley Siebert is surely the rider of the series so far. On his BW85cc machine, super Stanley has stylishly won all eight motos completed and naturally tops his particular Championship. Already, Stanley has fabricated a nice 39-point advantage at the head of the table with the equally consistent Sean Smout in 2nd and Alfie Pincher, Finn Fitzgerald, Ryan Tiley and Jimmy Whiston chasing hard. After winning round one with maximum points in the SW85cc contest, Freddie Davill was a non-starter at Bromsberrow, so Freddie Smith not only took the overall win but is also now the SW85cc Championship leader, followed by George Milnes, Connor Johnston, Harry Sayce and Sebastian Perrins-Talbot.
Having scored maximum points in both of the opening two rounds, defending AMCA Women’s Champion Grace Richards is already stamping her authority in the 2025 title chase. Midwest Racing rider Amber McGregor has scored a brace of podiums and currently sits 2nd in the standings ahead of Erin Howes, Jaymee Garroo, Hannah Jones and Sophie Jones.
After being crowned Champions in 2024, James Lane and Simon Lane have both started the defence of their respective Vets Over 40’s and Vets Over 50’s titles strongly. With Simon already 48 points clear in his class ahead of Ste Marlow, Nicholas Pawson and Matt Ryder, but for James, it’s a whole lot closer! At present, in the O40’s, he’s sharing top spot with Jamie Dobson, with both riders locked on 180 points as Sam Callow holds 3rd. The Vets Over 60’s, though, is far less complicated as Brian Staples leads the way, 46 points better off than Paul Blick, with Nigel Reed 3rd.
In the combined Juniors/Seniors Clubman contest, which is scored separately, Michael Harbage leads the Seniors contest. After taking top slot at Fatcats in round one, Harbage had to settle for 5th at Bromsberrow. In the Championship table, he holds a tidy 39-point advantage over Kurt Talbot, with Oliver Parry, Louis Tilley, Jed Reeson and Ricky Ryer filling the top six. Leighton Price, Lewis Day and Oliver Critchley were the Juniors Clubman podium takers at Bromsberrow last time out. In the title race, Day is the pacesetter with Critchley, Price, Harvey Hunt, Jack Breakwell, and George Wilcox chasing hard.
