The Honda rider’s accident on the final step-up brought out the red flag, with the race stopped while medical crews attended to him. Given the nature of the incident, there were understandable concerns for Bruce’s condition.

Racing at his local circuit, Bruce had enjoyed a solid start to the day, qualifying eighth before finishing ninth in the opening moto. However, his weekend came to an abrupt end with the heavy fall in race two.

Fortunately, Bruce revealed to us this morning that he had avoided any major injuries, saying, “Got pretty lucky to walk away with just a concussion.”

He also shared an update with fans on social media.

“Not how I planned to end yesterday; hit a kicker on the last step up and that’s all she wrote. Lucky to get away with no serious injuries.”

The concussion means Bruce will no longer line up as planned in the MXGP class at this weekend’s MXGP of Great Britain at Foxhill, where he had been due to compete as a wildcard.

Dirt Hub wishes Bobby a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back on track soon.
