Best day yet of 2022 for Revo Seven Kawasaki at Canada Heights!

Team Revo Seven Kawasaki enjoyed their best day yet of 2022 at Canada Heights for the Revo British Motocross Championships’ fourth round on Sunday, 22nd May.

Report by Ben Rumbold

With both riders in the MX2 class, the team had worked on sprint training prior to the event, knowing how important a fast start can be at the Kent venue. It paid off in Qualifying as Jamie Wainwright secured 7th gate pick, before Dylan Walsh surprised everybody with a last-minute fastest lap that snatched pole position from championship leader Conrad Mewse.

The power of the KX250 rocketed Walsh into the lead at the start of race one, but contact with another rider damaged the rear brake line in turn two and left it inoperable from that point onwards! Walsh rode brilliantly to hold onto the lead for nearly 3 laps before finding a good rhythm to finish 2nd. He even recorded the fastest lap! Meanwhile, Wainwright had been caught up in a first corner crash but made a lot of early passes, from outside the top 20 he came through to finish 8th.

Race two incredibly saw a Revo 1-2 into turn one, with Dylan leading and Jamie just losing out in turn two to GP rider Isak Gifting, but still 3rd. They both held on in tough conditions to finish 2nd and 4th, both in the race and the overall result!

Jamie’s scorecard was also enough to take the win in the Expert Cup class for the day. “A mega day for me, back where I want to be!” he said.

Team Manager Sam Yates added, “We are thrilled to bits with Jamie’s results which are just reward for of a lot of hard work. With Dylan 2nd again as well, overall it was a very good day and gives us serious momentum!”.

The buoyant team had to leave rapidly for a Covid test before flying to the USA for Dylan’s return to AMA action at Fox Raceway next weekend, whilst Jamie returns to Lyng for the next round of the MX Nationals.
