ACU CEO & President join the Track Racing Working Group

ACU Limited announce that the Track Racing Working Group will now benefit from direct oversight from the ACU Board of Directors.

Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Edwards-Wear and President, Tim Lightfoot will join the Working Group with immediate effect and will assist with the ongoing review and stabilising of the sport within the UK.

The Working Group was appointed in August 2025 when the Track Racing Commission became non-quorate. The Group have faced a variety of challenges to address and resolve the immediately apparent and fundamental issues.

The ACU Board of Directors recognise the decisions made by the Working Group have not been met with universal agreement by the Grass Track community. The introduction of direct Board oversight is intended to support and assist the Working Group with an aim to reunite the Grass Track community as the sport approaches its centenary in 2027.

A Track Racing Open Forum for organisers, typically held at the end of each season, has been brought forward to Saturday 28th March at 2.30pm at ACU House, to be attended by the Track Racing Working Group and the ACU Board of Directors and where various updates will be shared ahead of the 2026 season with the organisers.
