The 2026 Scottish Motocross Championship is building up to an epic finale this weekend in Drumclog, with the Pro MX1 and MX2 titles on the wire and champions across a wide range of classes to be crowned.

MX1 is where it’s at its tightest, with just 3 points separating home-nation hero Absolute MX KTM’s Ben Edwards and South African ace Tristan Purdon on his SevenSeven2 Ride Kawasaki as they are set to duke it out in the stacked Pro class for the coveted Donald Sinclair Trophy. Plenty of other riders will be looking to stand between them and the overall Round six victory though, with multi time race winner this year, Bobby Bruce looking to end his Scottish Champs with a victory and keep hold of third in the standings while the likes of Freddie Bartlett, the returning Brad Todd, Phoenix Tools Fantic Racing’s Carlton Husband and Motocycle Racing’s Jason Meara will all be keen to sign off the 2026 series with a win.
In MX2, SC Sportshomes Husqvarna’s Charlie Heyman will be looking to make it his third title on the bounce, but Chambers Racing’s Glenn McCormick will be doing everything he can to stop the recently crowned British MX2 champ from getting his hands on another trophy. With 56 points between them, though, the odds are stacked in Heymans’ favour, although there are plenty of top racers in MX2 who could get in between the Championship-chasing pair, including Jamie Keith, who has had a standout Rookie career in the Pro ranks, notching up two MXGB race victories. Max Harris is also a strong proposition in Scotland, as we have seen in the past, plus we have WMX superstar Lucy Barker looking to be at the sharp end, and she will certainly be one to watch. Young guns looking to make a name for themselves will be Robbie Scott, Lewis Spratt, and Ryan Waggott, to name a few.
Bailey Johnston could also be a dark horse in this class, as could veteran Jamie Law if his VMXDN showing is anything to go by.
Jaden Anderson (Youth 125cc), George Stewart (Vets 40), Josh Alexander (65cc), and Barry Gray (Vets 50) have all been crowned Champions, but there are still plenty of other titles on top of the Pro ones up for grabs, so expect no-holds-barred race action on Saturday and Sunday in all races.
On Sunday, too, it’s the Scottish Ladies Cup, which will be incorporated into the Vets classes, with some great prize money up for grabs.
