The 2026 AMCA British Motocross Championship supported by Rokit Tyres reached its midway point this weekend, June 13th/14th as the Cannock MXC hosts round four at their Lower Drayton circuit. And, there’s a clear pattern beginning to emerge in most classes as the battle for the titles on offer intensifies!

Last time out at Brookthorpe, it was FUS Marsh MX Honda pilot James Dodd topping the Open class podium. Dodd, the defending Champion, is just 20 points behind the current series leader, young Tyla Hooley, on the Leeds Palletts KTM. Indeed, the current top two look very likely to be the riders who will eventually go on to dispute the glory in the Open class as they are already breaking away from 3rd placed Will Hughes. The gap between FUS teammates Dodd and Hughes is at present 56 points as Ryan Crowder, Corey Hockey, Jacob Bowden, McKenzie Marshall, Jayden Murphy, Josh Waterman and Ben White complete the top ten.
With teenager Jayden Jones on his Wulfsport Meredith MX Rockoil Suzuki only scoring points on day one of the MX2 action at Brookthorpe due to a moto three crash, FUS Marsh MX Honda rider Henry Williams, who is also the defending Champion, has taken full advantage to go 42 points clear at the top of the 2026 standings. In the Championship table, Jones has actually been relegated down to 4th in the table, having also been overtaken by Finley Evans (Southern Conservatories Honda) and Jimmy Margetson (AJP Triumph). At Brookthorpe, the very impressive Evans also scored his first AMCA Championship moto victories and is certainly a rider well worth watching out for again this weekend! Currently holding 5th in the MX2 standings is CPMX Racing KTM rider Lee Truman, just ahead of Luke Dean, Yarin Evans, Rory Jones, Jack Evans and Seb Bartlett. With Dean unfortunately out injured due to a nasty arm injury, top ten positions in this class look very likely to change again after round four!
After some stunning 125cc action at Brookthorpe, it’s still Lee Sealey on his AD Modular Husqvarna leading the title race. With Sealey taking a very hard-earned overall win at round three, somehow despite a broken wrist, Jordan Wright on the LRT Yamaha not only competed but scored an incredible 2nd overall to thus also firmly keep himself in the frame and maintain his title quest! The top two of Sealey and Wright, though, have a couple of very capable, fast challengers right on their tails in the form of Ashley Harland and Aaron Colley. Both Harland and Colley have kept themselves right in the mix and will definitely be waiting to pounce as the season moves forward! At present, Luke Phillips, Patrick Gilligan, Luke Newman, Charlie Palmer, Connor Challinor and Phil Burton round off the top ten. Over in the 125cc Youth class, it’s Oakley Skinner in control. Scoring overall wins at both Bevercotes and Brookthorpe, he’s 53 points better off than Bobby Watson. The next three riders in the standings, Toby Adamson, Sean Smout and Ted Bullen, are separated by just 9 points, with the latter two lads currently both sitting on a total of 193.

Having her first MX meeting since 2018, Leoni Tighe scored a fabulous overall win in the AMCA Women’s Championship class at Brookthorpe. With previous series leader Ria Truman, a non-starter in that one, it’s also now Hannah Jones who leads the title race. Following the opening three rounds, Hannah is on 245 points with defending Champion Amber McGregor on 222 and Caitlin Newman 220 in hot pursuit. Both Amber and Caitlin scored moto wins in the Women’s class at Brookthorpe so will certainly be buoyed and very ready to go in search of more big points hauls this weekend at Lower Drayton. Despite having missed round three, Truman is still, though, holding 4th in the series just ahead of Jaymee Garrood and Erin Howes.
With overall wins at both round one and three, Jamie Dobson currently leads a very competitive Vets Over 40’s class. At present Jamie, though, is just 12 points ahead of the equally consistent James Lane, who is also the defending Champion. At present James is 40 points better off than 3rd placed Lee Martin, with Sam Callow and Dain Traylor also right in the mix. Over in the Vets Over 50’s, the super-fast and immaculate Phil Mercer continues to dominate and having taken overall victory in all three rounds so far, Phil is already 50 points clear of Matt Ryder. Going into round four at Lower Drayton, Matt is just 3 points ahead of the defending Champion Simon Lane. In this Over 50’s class, which is another intriguing contest, watch out for Stephen Clarke, Sean Smith and Aaron Crowder, the ACE Suspension boss who missed out at Brookthorpe due to an injured ankle. In the final Vets class for Over 60’s, defending Champion Brian Staples is already setting a very hot pace at the top. Following the opening three rounds, he’s a big 52 points clear of Daran Williams, who in turn is just 4 points better off than AJP boss Andrew Prosser.
Mason Brown is certainly ripping it up and in very hot form at the top of the Youth BW85cc class. With overall victories in the bag at Bromsberrow and Brookthorpe, Mason, though, is still just holding a 36-point advantage, and that’s due to Will Kremer also displaying consistently strong and impressive performances. At present it’s Byron Wheldon holding 3rd from Jimmy Whiston and Jay Howells. Over in the Youth SW85cc contest, young Aaron Mercer is making his dad Phil very proud as he tops the Championship table ahead of Oliver Moore. These two lads boast a big advantage over the next three, Tate Vincent, Tia Doyle and Logan Baker, all Wildcard entries. The final Youth class for 65cc riders sees Harvey Wood topping the table, but hot on his heels is Cohen Llewellyn. Cohen was in super form last time out at Brookthorpe and despite even missing round two at Bromsberrow is still only 28 points behind Wood! Next best in this class are Harlee Duffy and Mason Tait.
Scoring podiums at all three rounds completed so far, George Clarke tops the Clubman Seniors, but he’s certainly got some hungry challengers chasing hard and looking to move him off the Championship pole position! Max Monk, the winner at Brookthorpe, Charlie Ludwell, Callum Radford, Jack Hollis and Ayjay Simpson are still very much right in the mix. Proving just how competitive this class really is, Clarke, Monk, Radford, Simpson and Leighton Price have all scored moto wins. Although Clarke’s advantage at the top is currently a nice 41 points, he knows that there’s still plenty of hard work to be done in the remaining rounds!
So far, the Clubman Juniors as produced three different overall winners in Bobby Turner, Charlie Osborne and Charlie Early. In the standings it’s Osborne on the Radford Windows KTM leading the way 28 points clear of John Cox with Lewis Perks, Benjamin Prosser and Turner next up.
The Lower Drayton circuit can be found just off junction 13 of the M6, ST19 5RE, with the race action due to start at 11.00am on Saturday and 10.00am on Sunday.
