Will there be a new Pro Motocross Championship for the UK in 2026?

Rumours have been afoot of a new Pro Motocross Championship taking place in the UK in 2026, with RHL Activities head honcho Gareth Hockey adding fuel to the fire in a social media post following the Weston Beach Race saying, “Anyone looking for a Pro/youth championship series next season please give me till first week of November( will tell you either way the plan) .”

Of course, RHL Activities were the promoters of the ACU British Motocross Championship up to the end of 2024 before Paul Irwin was given the reins, and the series reverted back to the ACU itself.

RHL Activities also took over the BSMA at the end of 2024 after a disastrous year for the organisation, but no meetings were run under their auspices by RHL this year.

There are also question marks over the Nora Pro Motocross Championship (NPC), which has had two ill-fated years after lots of PR promising big things and big prize money, with the series only managing one round this year. Could they be back for a resurgent year three?

Crendon Tru7 Honda also mentioned in their 2026 team announcement PR that they would also be competing in a “second full UK national series” in 2026. Could this be the one mentioned by Gareth or another?

With the MX Nationals/Fastest 40 now gone and the Bridgestone British Masters running more of an Expert class as part of their meetings, is there a gap in the calendar for another Pro Championship, or should there be a consolidation of the MXGB Championship we already have?

One thing is for sure: we could be in for an interesting winter and an exciting 2026, one way or another.
